I own a mixer and a preamp. The question i have is, is the jsut one volume nob on the mixer equivelent to what the two nobs on the preamp does? (The preamp has a line in nob and an output nob. The mixer however only ahs the overall wolume nob for each channel.)

The mixer generally has a fader, which is it's output level and a gain knob to control input level.
