Topic Anyone here use MusicTime or Magix Music Studio ?
Hi!

My name is Andy and I like to make music on my computer for the fun
of it. In the past, I recorded guitar and synth keyboard parts on a 4-track
cassette recorder. After I got my first PC, I bought MusicTime 2.0 for
Windows 3.x, a sheet music program that can also create midi files (1994).

Today, I have a win98 se system on a PIII 800 MHz machine with
a Monster MX-300 sound card - all "inherited", as I am on a low budget.
The Monster has a pretty nice wavetable, midis sound much better than
they did on all the other old sound cards I've had, which I guess used a
synthesizer chip instead.

Anyway, I've gotten into making midis that sound like "real"
recordings, and in some cases would like to mix the midi "tracks" with
audio ones (by hooking up my guitar through a Zoom effects box into the
computer).

Looking around the 'net, I notice a product called Magix Music Studio
7.0, selling for $9.99 + shipping at J&R. Would this product do what I
described above? Reviewers seem to love this product, and the price is
right for me!

Also, after awhile, I noticed the limitations of MusicTime 2.0: no reverb
or chorus effects can be added, no pitch bend, no "blue" notes, etc.
Do any (or all) of the newer midi sequencer programs have these
features? Does Magix Music Studio 7.0 ?

Thanks,
Andy
