I have a Delta 44 soundcard, a patchbay (behringer Ultrapatch pro 2000) and a 16 channel mixer with 8 insert points and I really want to know how can I duplicate the insert points OUT so I can plug one into the effect and the other into the delta? I tried putting a TRS halfway in the insert point but then no sound is heard in the mixer; only to the delta. So, I have what I need (an Y-cable, a patchbay, a mixer and a soundcard) in the hardware area, but in the knowledge area I am somewhat behind... the patchbay has 4 modes; open, parallel, normalled and half-normalled..... Anybody? :(

Your mixer must have multiple output for that. Maybe you can have one out as main out and second as monitor out or something like that.

By "Y cable" I hope you mean a stereo splitter or TRS to 1/4"

Use the parallel setting if its on a switch. Else you need to find which jack does the switching and don't use it.

Just plug the TRS end into the insert and the straight 1/4" plugs into the patchbay channel. One more cable gets you out of the patchbay to the effect.

Note that you probably won't have any EQ or fader control at the insert point.
