Artec SE-EQ8 8 Band Graphic EQ

I bought it used in Hungary for about 40 bucks. I use it with a homemade JCM800, a 2x12 cabinet with Peavey Blue Marvel speakers, TD passive guitars.

This is definiteley a beginner stage pedal, but I think, this one is worth it's low price.
First of all, this little stompbox generates more less noise, than I had excpected, which is a really good, litlle EQ-s can be very noisy sometimes. It has got a sturdy metal casing, very far from easily destructable. The pots are just regular ones, they do their job, but nothing special. IMO it is best used in frontfter a ditortion or overdrive pedal.

Pros:
Cheap, easy to use, low noise, acceptable quality for a low price
Cons:
Not the best in its leage, average sound qality

UTILIZATION

It is therefore Eq or added according to the desired frequency sounds is removed. I do not even know if there is a manual in any case there is no need.
I find that taking alim is misplaced but this is a detail.

SOUND QUALITY

My Eq serves me to grow my sound distortion so the pedal is placed after my Suhr Riot. I play with a LP Studio or a Godin Redline all active in FX Clean Amp 22w.
The pedal is transparent if the active leaving every home there is no change in the sound, against a setting with V (approximately) with Riot and DO enabled, you get a heavy sound ideal for Metal or other buggers music and that's exactly what I wanted.
I've had a Fender Eq and I personally prefer the Artec share format.

OVERALL OPINION

Finally it is a good pedal with unbeatable price / performance ratio and it would be a shame to pass.
Now I only put 6 for 2 months after the switch button is stuck but I will change it in 2 shots soldering iron.

UTILIZATION

So frankly it's my first graphic eq and it is simply monstrous, all he can do with a.

Its clear it can:
1) To serve as a booster to be stronger (eq flat and louder volume)

a. treble boost is actually a staircase that goes up.
b. mid boost, there is a bump in mdiums, it allows the body to give a simple guitar mic and get something that is closer to the sound of a double.
c) bass boost (to have a fuzzy grain)
d) to boost frequencies.

3) It is the glue APRS a distortion or od (APRS or the distortion of the amp ie in the effects loop), and size for the color we want. For example APRS a DS1, you boost the bass and treble and the mids are hollow and hop a good disto mtal fawn, nicer easier and more effective than rgler mtal zone.

SOUND QUALITY

It is transparent, not a breath, it works well trs, perfect everything.

Obviously we can abtenir sound shit in the rglant evil, but even the pedals it does not default sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a month to 15 years APRS electric scraper I dcrouvre this machine is simply a real Swiss Army knife.

One of the pedals default, the small buttons on the sliders do not take it well and palms, but does not prevent the pedals to work.

Put a hand is so useful that it would take two ...

8-band equalizer. Analog programmable nothing. We tamper with the knobs with his big fingers and marched his ears ... 9 volt power supply compatible Boss, an input, an output jack, a switch on / off.

SOUND QUALITY

Like all équalos must be able to use them sparingly. For me, the SE-EQ8 replaces a boost from Rocktron Nitro (too bright in my opinion) in the effects loop of my GH50L. It allows me to modify my guitar sound during solos. The cuts / boosts are progressive and doing a good job. The breath is itself very reasonable.

OVERALL OPINION

2 months of use and nothing to say. I have a second EQ (the Boss GE-7) between the guitar and amp, and I used to determine the overall sound of my guitar. The Artec has nothing to be ashamed of its performance, especially given the price (about 50 €). A small remark though: if the housing and the switch are robust, knobs and buttons to slide easily be block. A point of superglue and it's done!
