Level connections, everything has been said I think .... The bare minimum for a BAR, but it happens. Except that well, it's not really a BAR, just a sequencer seen ... so that's how it makes sense ^ ^
Limited connectivity audio (L / R outputs + headphones ... no imput), MIDI in / out (no thru, too bad, but hey what kind of machine is designed to be the centerpiece of a set noon, so no big deal) ...
Rugged metal, but the knobs and buttons seem more fragile ... That said, within two years of transport (repeat / scene .. 2fois displaced at least a week), no I have yet dropped or showed signs of weakness. Knock on wood)
Light and easy to carry, it would in a small toolbox that we find in a DIY € 15, including foam, short ... practice.
The screen is large and clear ... never had a problem of readability
The floppy drive, always practical.
I put 8 in the plastic and the lack of usb ... But this is already old Bécanne.
UTILIZATION
One week with the manual to make the turn after it is relatively simple and intuitive ... and very complete.
The creation of phrases and patterns is simple, though sometimes a bit tedious in some cases large phrase .. Anyway I think that is the case with all hardware sequencers, it will never be the flexibility of a PC. RAS at this level
The 16 MIDI tracks available are more than enough to use that I have.
Patterns can be edited live. All react without latency niquel.

SOUNDS
The kit to beat> troubleshoots ca ... but hey, if you're looking kind of TR-808-909, go your way .... If you want to beat kits also realistic: p
Other sounds (synths, fx, strings, etc.)> I have known gsm sounding better: D
Good sound is clearly not the purpose of the machine, I do not use them ... there is virtually almost never had jacks behind my rm1x ^ ^
From time to time in the headphones to my sequences cushy home without having to plug in everything else ... it helps out again ....
It can not work in bringing the rm1x .. And that account ^ ^
Back in again, it midi cable to the expander and go with real sounds ^ ^
Short => 2 / 10 because it has clearly not been made for that .. but still 2 points for the next "utility" sounds
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 2 years soon, I was looking for a cheap sequencer and sound for my virus, and I must say it like this role very well ... At this point I am very satisfied. For use in a group, and coupled with expanders, it is perfect!
Alone of course ... It may be very limited to noise ^ ^
€ 300 bought new in a retrieval Musicstore home can be hard to beat at this price, the ratio Q / price is exellent, I do not regret my purchase.
With experience, I would resume probably something more complete, such a mc-808-8000 MV see one used, that saves me buying a lot of other add-ons (Xpander Drum Sampler, small mixer etc. ..), so do come back pe ultimately not really cheaper while increasing enormously the possibilities ... But it's not the same price range!
I intend to keep it a few times, can be a year. Eventually I would spend the next level .. but I do not know if I sell it (my first sniff sequencers anyway .... then saw its resale price ...: p)
In conclusion I would say that if you are looking for a sequencer effectively manage your electronic instruments on stage, the rm1x is ideal ...
