Tested on a good old Fender Hot Rod Deluxe U.S., this Ruby gives a softer color channel "Drive" and "More Drive" and also brings more gain. While retaining the beautiful features of the combo.
Many 12AX7 I've tried (JJ, Tung ground TAD Electro Harmonix or Sovtek), it seemed to me the most compelling and long remained in place until I finally unearthed my reference kit: 3 Groove Tube Matched paired SAG-FHG.
And it was thanks to the Ruby I could perfectly define what I needed, based on the fact that a high gain AX7 satisfy me fully V1.
