I wanted an extremely simple chorus of use, it is served!

SOUND QUALITY

Branch in faade, clear sound, the effect is particularly effective. I use it on electric guitars.

The chorus sound is really trsrussi we can cover styles rather varis (I rarely use extreme rglages), just with a single knob to rglage. Also advantageous to modify the chorus with the tip of his cowboy ': D
We can not reach the extreme sonorits, chorus goes "relatively quiet" "Introduced" without forcment have this brilliant ct (or mtallique, one might say) as could be the Small Clone for example, with highs that are rhausss (too?).

I have 2 problems with this use (defects that seem rather frquents on this model), and are absolutely rdhibitoires me.

For distortion (I use one of my amp), I really like placs Chorus before (I find that it makes the sound less prcis), so for me it is placed after chorus and this is the bt hurts ... !!
With large spaces behind distos means behind the distortion as a flanger sound (well presented in the First half of the stroke of knob) I do not want to !!

I tried Neo and Small Clone, CE2, Malekko. It will require testing the M234!
I really ADOR use in clean facade in !! But in the loop without a buffer behind, for me it is unusable, the relative increase in volume and the background noise flanger (that I found not as pronounced on other models ) in addition to aa eventually decide to sell it to me.
For someone would use in facade and the flanger sound that is not a magic Drange pedal !!
She lets me suddenly got a rear of unfinished because it has big qualities but also major defects .... What a shame ...

I will not comment on the record with chorus + distortion in front because it is not my use.

For someone who would use the front and the flanger sound that does not bother it is a magical pedal!
It leaves me without an aftertaste of unfinished because it has great qualities but also major defects .... What a pity ...

This is a chorus of all that is mundane, the "MXR mode" that allows a single potentiometer to vary the speed and intensity of the effect (well, for speed, I am sure, for the intensity, it seems, but it can be a simple effect "ear"). Finally, I understand.
The effect is mono, input and output, as a result, it may not suit everyone. For those with a single set is sufficient.

UTILIZATION

Yes, setup is simple: one in, one out, one knob, you should be fine.

SOUND QUALITY

So yes, the effect is terrible. It has a really vintage side I like a lot, not at all ether as most inevitably chorus referring to the 80. He, a very "earthy" and undeniably hot: was not this sound metal often found on the many chorus I had in my possession.
The stroke of the knob can go from a quiet chorus to something much faster, but we can not, in my opinion, to have a sound approximating a Leslie. For me, as for many others apparently, the ideal position is around 11:00. on the other hand, you should know that it is impossible to have a chorus sound really invasive and / or crazy, it's still fairly quiet overall and finally wise enough.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for a little less than a year. If I had not come to dig up a chorus Retro Sonic, I would have still on my pedalboard. I especially like the side plug and play and the possibility to change the setting on the fly, with the tip of the foot. The fact that it is true bypass was also a decisive factor, because as it is an effect I little branch, I did not want it colored the sound too when he was disabled. And the canary yellow ... mhhhhhhhh, it looks like organic egg yolk, I love.
I had the opportunity to try it side by side with the flanger the same brand (two knobs so), and both effects are really the same family can have a very sound approach with the flanger, but with something extra, a little more substance and wealth with the flanger (which is really terrible too, and god knows I do not like this usually).
Among the negative points, it generates a bit of breath, but this defect disappeared when I redid my wiring, so I do not know if it is intrinsic to the pedal.
Really, it's a great effect, not too expensive, "Casablance" almost anywhere thanks to its small size and does the job well so beautiful, especially if you want to get out of the typical 80's chorus.

There are many quality units out there there will give you lush chorus/flanger tones. While there may be other units that sound amazing, not many of them are as simple and as inexpensive as this unit.

This unit is based off the 80's unit that MXR put out over 20 years ago. The demand for them to recreate that classic chorus tone found on so many players rigs was so great they felt that it needed to be done again with some updates.

UTILIZATION

I'm a simple guy and like things to be easy while being useful. I think this pedal achieves this in spades. With only one control knob that has a wide range and sweep of lush chorus. The one touch knob that is found on MXR's Phase 90 has made a huge impact on the guitar world that the introduction of the simplistic chorus pedal caught on to that need of easy effect pedals.

I like this version pedal than the stereo chorus they have since I'm not in a great need of expanded chorus tonal options.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is very lush and full of warm chorus effect that sounds great in front of a clean amp or a dirty amp. Twist the knob all the way up and get cool Leslie type rotary speaker tone. If you put the control knob around noon you get a very lush chorus tone that compliments the harmonics of your guitar and amp. For me I like the 9:00 setting which compliments a heavily distorted amp. It just beefs up the tone quite a bit and gives a cool 80's hard rock tone.

This is a serious 80's guitar fanboy's dream. You will need a good chorus pedal if you have any desire to play 80's style shred metal or hard rock guitar. With only one knob you'd think it has limitations and it does but for the guy who doesn't need all the extra switches and whistles this is the perfect chorus pedal.

For me this is the perfect little chorus pedal. It is simple and just compliments your guitar playing and original tone of your amp quite nicely. If you want something a little more expandable then try the stereo chorus from MXR or maybe a Retro-Sonic chorus pedal. Those pedals have a bit more options to them which could come in handy if you rely heavily of effected tone.

I would recommend this pedal to anyone who needs a simple chorus pedal that is on a budget. And if you are not on a budget this is still a fantastic sounding chorus pedal. The new price comes in around $70 which is steal for something that sounds this good. MXR rules!

Note that using the pedal powered with a spider, the MXR in the style suffers from a poor connection. Let me explain: if you are supporting brutal style has top live like me, you may disconnect the pedal (it happened 246 times in repeated) so no risk to either the live feed is placed directly it is above the battery

SOUND QUALITY

The volume pot is only "RATE" is very progressive. Earlier with a CE5 boss, there's no photo for the quality and ease of use.
To my taste the chorus is not very marked.

OVERALL OPINION

I got this pedal for the simple reason of its size, and concerned about the size of my pedalboard. I wanted a chorus as simple as possible. CE5 outgoing boss more than I could bear.
I wanted a knob of depth, to my taste. I find that the microphone chorus lacks character
I can not find the effectiveness of phase90 I have and I find it perfect despite its simplicity.
So I sold because my set did not need anymore chorus.
I put on a good note however MXR because it's still very good stuff, and many will be delighted with this pedal mini format

I used this pedal with all kinds of setup and rigs. Right now I am using it with a Strat and a Splawn Quick Rod going into a vintage Marshall 4x12 with Blackback Celestion speakers. The tone is phenomenal!
