A small pedal, MXR typical format, two knobs and a switch.
Level of connection is mono. Supply terminal 9 VDC next to the input.
A fully analog circuit, I do not know more at the bypass and I have not opened the bug.
UTILIZATION
Setting the Dynacomp takes a little patience, the two knobs are not present to take a joke and an adjustment on the fly to give a result almost always means.
This is by far the most clean the compressor on the market and it lacks the subtlety of a rack [release, ratio, treshold, input, output ,...] and it is not an evil: it "guitarist-friendly!"
SOUND QUALITY
Well, it compresses nicely. The Dynacomp not sustain a factory, nor a versatile compressor. We must take it as it is and also know without it. But it is a standard in pedal-boards.
Mainly used for electric guitar, it can sometimes be used for one or two bass lines.
OVERALL OPINION
I rediscovered thanks to the friend Xavier Belmoufle. I had already been playing around with the little box, now it is one of my key.
I like the grain it brings, recognizable.
I do not blame him, I signed informed consent.
The price is ... blah, it will not in fact, there are more expensive and worse, there are also more versatile. The Dynacomp did not disappoint me, I do not want to break his sugar on the back with arguments pecuniary moved.
For a little (much) more round, I probably will sign a Custom Audio V-Comp, but not really need that either. No, for uses cleaner, more precise I reach for my DBX 160A or I refines the result with a good plugin.
The Dynacomp is so classic that say bad things is not easy. This is a good classic, a safe bet but not the ultimate compressor. Besides, there is none.
