The Pearl AD-33 is an analog delay pedal that was manufactured for a brief time during the 1980s. This pedal has 1/4 inch connections and is powered by the specific power supply that comes with it. This isn't a rack mountable unit as it is a foot pedal.
UTILIZATION
The make up of the Pearl AD-33 is pretty easy to follow along with and I assume that if you are looking at this you probably have some experience with guitar pedals. Even if you don't have any experience you shouldn't have too many issues with this pedal as it is basic in make up. The make up of the Pearl AD-33 is pretty easy to follow along with and I assume that if you are looking at this you probably have some experience with guitar pedals. Even if you don't have any experience you shouldn't have too many issues with this pedal as it is basic in make up. The pedal has two separate channels that each have parameters for delay time and feedback and there are also parameters for input and delay level. There are two foot pedals - one to turn the effect on or off and one to choose between the two different channels. Having the two channels is a big plus as it allows you ability to switch back and forth between two different sounds without having to change any of the parameters. I don't have the manual for the Pearl AD-33 so I don't know how complete it is.
SOUND QUALITY
The tones that are possible with the Pearl AD-33 are pretty awesome overall. You can get a bunch of different types of delays, but it isn't exceptionally versatile and all of the tones are in the same vein. The biggest upside to this pedal is that all of the sounds possible with this pedal are top notch and are both warm and clean sounding. I've only used this pedal with electric guitar and I usually use it with a Fender Strat and a '76 Fender Twin Reverb. It is hard to describe this pedal beyond saying that it has a super clean sound and needs to be heard to be truly appreciated.
OVERALL OPINION
I first used the Pearl AD-33 analog delay guitar pedal about six months ago and I wish I had started using it earlier as it is an exceptional guitar pedal. These are really rare now and hard to find so it will cost you a decent amount of cash to pick one of these up but the sound of the pedal is worth the price as it has a top quality sound. If you are into vintage pedals or are simply looking for a great sounding analog delay pedal, the Pearl AD-33 will not let you down.
