Versatile boost/overdrive pedal. Great tool!
Published on 09/09/11 at 11:09The Jetter Jetrdrive is a dual channel overdrive pedal. There is a green channel (buttery) and a blue channel (aggressive), each with identical volume, drive, and "lean-rich"(tone) controls. Either channel can be run at a time, or both can be used at the same time.
The Jetdrive is a great entry in the world of dual-channel overdrives. The channels are very similar in tone, but different in feel. However, more aggressive tones can be found in the blue side, and more organic tones live in the green side. This pedal has more volume than one probably needs, so it can act as a great lead boost as well.

One thing this pedal does well is preserve the inherent character of the guitar that is being played through it. Strats sound like Strats, Teles like Teles, Les Pauls like Les Pauls. It seems to favor a humbucking pickup more, providing more liquidy smoothness, but single coils still sound great with this box.
The "lean-rich" control acts to me as a high-pass filter, cutting lows when adjusted. Gain is not incredibly plentiful in this pedal in the first version, but a second version is out now with more gain on tap. I have read that Jetter will mod existing version 1 pedals to version 2 gain characteristics for no charge, but I have not verified that information first-hand.
The housing is remarkable, as it comes in a (oft-underutilized, in my opinion) classy bright white finish with a jet graphic on it, and no model name screened on. It is metal, seems very short in height, and looks to be very durable. Of course it can run off of a battery (9v) or an adaptor.
Overall, this is a great tool to add in any guitarists arsenal. It's a bit pricey, but it pays off in versatility and tone.
