«  A RAT + + + well above the model "factory" »

Published on 06/05/13 at 02:00
See previous opinions - Note a mini-jack needed for power. Here we talk about the RAT2 modée by MSM Workshop: addition of LM308 chip (the "legendary" the Rat "original" - the "vintage" what) + opportunities for mini switches to choose between / Turbo modes Rat Rat / Booster - then , OD or distortion fashion - last but switch to choose between a round or more aggressive sound
A box giving the impression of strength.
The analog! C and it is good!

Have a look on the website page for more information ;)

UTILIZATION

3 knobs volume gain and tone to actually act on the treble.
The limit of "gain" a distortion "compressed" with a little fuzzy side (small I said) is obtained.

SOUND QUALITY

I found the medium version "stock" for my taste. A dirty side that I liked but as a veil over the sound. Adjusting tone did not suit me either.
Some might say that the difference between the "stock" model and modified minimal, I do not think so! If I had not changed my amp (now I use the amp distortion), I would use again! The mod has removed this kind of veil on her, I did not really like. And the tone is more effective!
In addition, with the various switches were numerous possibilities! Hard not to find something, especially because it sounds good in all configs :)
In any case a C pedal has its own character, it dirty sound without distorting it. One likes or dislikes but it never leaves indifferent :)

OVERALL OPINION

With the mod I rediscovered this pedal did not like it at first!
She really personality, so to test for someone looking for a distortion pedal a little "dirty" (C anything but smooth for my taste). Love it or do not!
I highly recommeded the modified model, which to my ears had nothing to do with the "stock" model in terms of perceived quality.
When the period of mod MSM and the quality of work done, no complaints! On top!
