Best value:
Excellent
The Danelectro Hash Browns flanger analog mini-sized mini-price. Roughly, it measures 2 / 3 of a Boss (10cm / 7cm x 5cm).
It has an input (mono) and output (single well), all by Jack 6 1 / 2.
Power is supplied by 9V battery or external power.
It offers three settings: speed, regen, width.
A red LED indicates the setting function.
Screw battery change (plastic) tends to deteriorate rapidly, I do not give in its life when used more intensively.
The plastic shell is, however, rather robust. A steel soleplate offers him a bit more stability but does not the foundation of a pedal-size adult.
UTILIZATION
Operation is very basic so simple. Intellectually simple or rather because its mini size does not make it easy to use mini-buttons. Prohibits large fingers, then!
Using the foot switch is not very pleasant: there is no "click" indicating that the effect has been permanently active and the LED is easily obscured by the foot. We therefore rely on their ears to know what it is.
SOUND QUALITY
Once engaged, a slight hiss is heard.
The setting is also difficult to reach: the pots are not very precise. Like the sound that has a rough appearance. Rather rough but warm.
OVERALL OPINION
I'm not a big fan of flanger so I used very (very very very) rarely. But I must admit that the overall quality of the pedal does not inspire me either.
I could try a Digitech Turbo Flange. It has no heat but much greater precision (price is still almost twice ...). To choose between the two, I would resume the Digitech (though I'm fond of heat).
In the end, one has for his money. It's not expensive but the quality suffers. For my part, I prefer to put more money and have something usable.
