I used a year on my 828 pro agile dual.
This guitar was originally equipped with passive cepheus. I did a test cepheus VS aftermath. The difference was insensitive, I would say that the aftermath was a little too aggressive in the high mids. Apart from that it is excellent. Hyper punchy harmonically powerful, good joints notes but almost too much power for use by lowering the gain of the distortion / amp, hey yes Djent in the aftermath is a big gain 1/3 of the race knobs ^ ^ Do not forget it, if you put all 100% You will try your groove ^ ^ In his clear is pasterrible but split BCP is already better. It is a kind of X2N owned midrange. On a guitar ash or mahogany I'd care to be seen .... On alder, maple it lends itself more in my opinion. I finally everything is a matter of taste. I will buy more in the end I sold my guitar but I would have kept, I have handed over cepheus. there are other more productive in my opinion microphones (ionizer / EMG X 808 / nazgul / but especially the Pegasus ^ ^) do not forget that this is a story of all that money too ^ ^ on the other hand he dismantles the D-activator.

I received this mic this afternoon, version easel ceramic tried for two hours.
This mic is great quality, it's meaning from the first notes, I mounted on a baritone granted drop G, saturated sound is balanced, round in the bass, midrange beautiful as in that solo rhythm , sharp treble, not a lot of gain but not runny at all, it is clear, warm, short for metal on top, whether it's thrash, death, djent.
I tried quickly made clear, it is doing very well, so that saturated balanced, round, shiny, without any distortion.
I tried EMG81/85, X2N Dimarzio, Seymour Blackout 1 and 2, SH4, Bare Knuckle Miracle Man and I forget the Aftermath similar to a Blackout and EMG but better, it still has its own color, how very beautiful also.
As said above it is ceramic, so it will stick better guitars round (mahogany etc ...) rather than acoustic guitars.
For those who want modern metal, I highly recommend their, no wonder Mansour Periphery Misha plays with.
Be a little bit expensive for some, but if you have a good amp and a good guitar, do not radiner on the mic

I snagged this matched set new off an eBay authorized dealer. Bare Knuckle is known for having some of the best pickups around and you would be hard pressed to find a bad review...and you won't find it here! I put this passive set into my 2000 Gibson Gothic LP. The guitar originally came stock with 490/498. A lot of people rip on these Gibson pickups, but I enjoyed them for over 10 years, recording a lot of material and played a lot of great shows. I always wondered about upgrading- what guitarist doesn't? When the stock bridge pickup went bad, it gave me the chance to plunge into BKs.
I selected the set based on my recent musical changes...I used to reside in Eb and drop Db, sometimes E/dropD...but recently have really enjoyed playing a bit lower in dropC. My material has drifted away from friendlier pop hard rock to hard rock/metal, if that makes any sense. I figured the mid prominence displayed on the BK site for this set would work well...plus, it is one of their newest and most modern offerings. result? Awesome response. My guitar cuts through any mix with pure fire, yet does not get abrasive- a tough balancing act. The lows are super fast responsive to quick picking, tight yet delivers a thunderous low end. I would say these pickups could work in a variety of genres, but if you're reading/considering this, chances are you like a good level of brutality to your playing... this set delivers. My chops are a bit sloppy, and previously I would play most of my leads on the neck pickup. However, this BK ceramic bridge delivers such a pleasing mid and hi frequency, it allows me to jam out without getting spikey or abrasive. It truly is inspirational- and flat out rules for hi gain detuned applications. The alnico neck pickup is sensational, it puts a great smooth huge low end tone to phrases. It somehow delivers HUGE low end without ever getting muddy. I think the heaviness and darkness of the LP body helps make this a great combination, make sure to contact Tim at BK before choosing your pickup. He's known for great customer service and my experience was no different- give him your guitar specs and needs, and he will respond very quickly with great advice. the pickups are a bit pricier, but worth every penny. I'm now looking at replacing all off my guitar pickups with BK, the quality is blowing me away!

Bare Knuckle pickups is a custom pickup maker out of the United Kingdom. They are known for their super heavy pickups that have rediculous output and tone. These pickups have been taking over the industry by storm. Everyone who is playing heavy music has been looking into these pickups. I know of people who have been swapping out active pickups and putting Bare Knuckle pickups in their place because the passives are more brutal. In the Bare Knuckle line the Aftermath is pretty low output compared to most of their stuff. The Aftermath has a symmetrically wound twin screw coil design and has 3 ceramic magnets in it. Neck versions come with an output rated at 11.5k while the bridge version comes out at a little under 15k. This is pretty light when you consider they sell pickups with like 25k output. The eq on these pickups is pretty even with a little tilt towards the highend. This pickup is similar to the painkiller but with the mids dialed back so it does not sound as honky. The pickup still retains all the tightness and brutality that you would expect from a pickup from Bare Knuckles but with a fairly even eq and reasonable output. This pickup is super tight and will be as tight as you are. With the fairly even eq it will not overpower the natural tones of whatever guitar you put it in. A good pickup with a flat eq with just accentuate the natural tones of the wood of the guitar. So if you have a dark guitar this pickup will give a dark sound if you have a bright guitar it will put out a bright sound. If you are looking for a brutal pickup with a fairly even eq it would be hard to go wrong with this pickup.

The Bare Knuckle Pickups Aftermath is the next incarnation of the Painkiller. It’s part of the contemporary line of pickups that Bare Knuckle offers, so it’s more of a modern pickup than classic pickup. It features allen bolts on both coils, three custom ceramic magnets stacked on top of each other, a ceramic manget for the bridge and Alnico V for the neck. The pickup comes standard with four conductor wiring, but there are tons of options you can order for this thing.

Some people weren’t digging the huge amount of midrange that the Painkiller offers. Tim decided to make a new variation of the Painkiller that had less mids but was razer tight. This was the pickup he came up with. It is a super, super tight pickup that works great for ultra fast triplets ala Iced Earth and Meshuggah. The low end on this pickup is very focused sounding. Where as the Warpig has a huge low end, this has a more narrow and tighter low end to really keep everything in check. The mids on this are a lot more even than the Painkiller. It’s not so overbearing that it takes over the guitar’s natural properties. The treble on this is also fairly even sounding in that it’s present, but it’s not overbearing like certain other pickups can be. The split coil tones and parallel tones seem to work very nice. When split, it delivers a fairly authentic sounding split tone, and the parallel tone gives an almost telecaster kinda sound.

I find that this pickup seems to work best in nearly any wood from alder to mahogany. It’s not nearly as picky as the Painkiller was, and it works great at extending the guitar’s natural frequencies.

If you’re looking for the tightest pickup that BKP offers, definitely check this one out. It’s an awesome revision of the famous Painkiller.
