B.C. Rich BDSM Set

Having been dumb enough in my younger years to buy one of these BC Rich guitars without even trying it (because it looked cool), I have had a bitter feeling towards them for awhile. But the fact is, that even for most metalheads, these guitars don't sound good. At first I thought all their guitars were just bad, but the more I realize it, they actually are ok for fast riffs and shredding of a reckless nature. It's just that these pickups, which are standard in almost all of their guitars, are horrible. They really don't give you much of anything, the only time they sound good for anything is when you either have the right amp with ridiculous gain or the right pedal (with an equally ridiculous amount of gain). There's not a whole lot going on with these pickups, I think there are almost 10 other brands that I'd prefer for metal over these. I don't think anybody buys those guitars for their pickups anyway, so I'd say that most BC Rich owners would do well to think about gutting their guitars and putting in some other type of humbucker.
The thing I hate about these pickups is that they have no character. I can't even think of a frequency response that is better than others. I think that the only thing these have in comparison to other humbuckers is a good bass response. I've actually heard others that have similar bass response but also a great high end, and scooped mids (which totally rules for metal). This doesn't do anything like that. I really think they are the reason I don't really like BC Rich, and why most people wouldn't buy them. Even though buying them separately is dirt cheap, I'd never consider it. Avoid buying these pickups at all cost, and consider replacing them if you already have a BC Rich and aren't crazy about the tone.

I used the mics in my BDSM BC Rich Warlock NJ Neck-Thru for about 3 months.
Now replaced with Seymour Duncan SH2 Jazz-in handle and TB6-Distortion in bridge.

(Much of what I will say is compared to V7 and V8 that I had on my old Ibanez RG550 EX, then the same quality microphones)

What I liked is still pronounced the versatility offered by the difference in timbre between the neck pickup and the bridge. A priori one would think that given the reputation of these microphones, Bc Rich did not break your ass and just dropping out of the pickups high output without anything interesting behind.
On the contrary. The neck pickup has a real brightness (more than the SH2 actually) that surprised me the first time. To be honest I was expecting something vaguely clear but no more, as Ibanez V7 ... But the result has been well exceeded.
Clear sound that almost resembles a simple game that can also be saturated Blues shamelessly with a good crunch.
After, perhaps this is due also to the body of my maple NJ Warlock Neck-Thru, which facilitated the "clarity" of sound, delivering a maple favoring his treble.
I doubt that the result is so convincing a series Bronze for example ...

As for the bridge pickup, not bad, it is still in a register that is of little originality, he potato, is more precise to the level it delivers.
Sound a little deaf, which forced me to raise the tone of my guitar to come up with something that I liked. One often reads that BDSM is "drooling", it must be said that these are micro "free", who are there either for short runs or for playing time to be replaced ...

In comparison with other plant microphones in other brands, I would say they are still interesting. The neck pickup has more personality than the Ibanez V7, the burying the V8 bridge pickup Ibanez in power. However, they seem much worse than the Duncan Designed found on Jackson, especially in terms of accuracy.

As for the price / quality ratio it does not arise since they are mounted automatically on 90% of the Bc Rich. I sold mine for 35 € and this seems a price rasionnable. To boost a scratch entry-level or manufactured by different parts of Recycling 'they will show themselves friendly.

Since I have compared to V7 and V8 with Ibanez and I figured the same quality it was concluded, therefore they are better than the Ibanez INF offered on its smaller models of guitar.

I just tried my Nuveau BC Rich pickups Ibanez RG270 on for some days.
It should specify that my Ibanez, like many others, offers a sound one can "cold", basswood body and rosewood handle 24 cases.
I tried other mics before beacoup a TB14, TB5, SH2JB, Epiphone (from a Les Paul) modified by me.
Now I'm a catch with the BC Rich, purchased for their attractive prices and for their high impedance.
I am sincerely pleased with the choice, the bridge pickup liberates high level output and is quite versatile, I can play the Blues at the big metal.
For the neck pickup, I can not find the same impressions of the other user, I think the sound is not brilliant but cuts the high frequencies (sorry I usually play with SH1 ...).
It must be said that the lack of definition, but for large saturation "help" a can.
In contrast, the micro bridge provides good saturation and excellent harmonics are not talking about high end mics like Seymour Duncan, EMG, Di Marzio pickups or other but a low price with excellent quality price.
