Zakk Wylde conessez if you must know what jou, a very heavy metal, but these pickups have a sound super clear and precise without Satue and it's the same with the saturation.

I bought an epiphone les paul standard plus with this kit zakk, I buy just to please me because I had a Fender Start maxique and I was bored at the Asser's not "hard" for my taste so I put the kit on my epiphone zakk and transform it, I regret my purchase at all.

I bought this kit yaa it about a month.
Judging the record, and more particularly to mounting scheme, it happens without problem, except ... except for the sense of connecting the plug microphones.

This is a great kit that will delight all lovers of big sound!
Big sound? Not only, virtually everything is possible with these pickups, but I must admit they are more comfortable when playing at least the Heavy (I say at least eh!). Microphones powerful, precise, and frankly, I think they have a mouth!
The EMG 85 has a warm, round, 81 He is not in the lace, the sound is evil, cold and precise. Do not worry, if you play extreme metal such as death, grind or black, these microphones are in the ears without flinching. For me the EMG 81 is THE reference in terms of microphone to play metal (or noise lol).
Do you like the sound Hetfield, Hammett, Mustaine and Wylde? And of these pickups are for you! Do not be afraid of the stack, there are no parasites and it lasts a long time (against not let the jack plugged into the guitar, as some ... If so I know ...)
As against a flat there ... The torque from 85 to 81 is not homogeneous enough for my taste. And yes, there is a too big difference between 81 and 85, which prevents some players just to change the microphone during a song. It's just my opinion, you may not agree. Please note I am not criticizing the EMG 85 that a super micro, it really bothers me the couple (well it may well disturb me, this does not prevent me to own it ^ ^).
Therefore prefer an EMG 81 in the bridge position and an EMG 60 pickups in the neck (including configuration used by James Hetfield) means no difference to the change in microphone and the sound of the 60 is hot and will contrast the game without disturbing the scratch ^ ^
The difference was not its important I gave 10/10 for they are sacred microphones.

I mount this kit to replace the original EMG-HZ on a Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Not bad these HZ pickups, but I got a little dry. The couple's assets ZW kit changes everything! J'hsite do so as in a laisss advice: try to swap the pickups (EMG easy thanks to the connector that quickly have to unsolder the pickups). Finally, it is a dtail.

- What is so special that you like most and least?

Plus: The big sound. It is clear, the kit Zakk Wylde is not playing Brassens. High output while remaining accurate, with 81 for the bridge and 85 solo flights for the next round. Both pickups are actually quite different from the other level sound: a sound like a razor blade through the ceramic 81, and something more rough, but much hotter on the bass strings with the 85 (alnico) . In short, the 81 is great for rhythm with palm-mute all, and 85 for tapping shred and madness. Both pickups complement each other perfectly.

As I said I have mounted on an Ibanez S270 with an EMG SA in the micro environment (for a clear sound worthy of the name), the notice provided little that explains enough to read it, and the pattern montages are clear.

The least: I would say the lack of versatility. Because even if they deliver the sound I was looking for, we must keep in mind that these are specialized metal pickups, and for more opportunities I had to get an SA (single coil) in the middle position.

Yes. Since I have installed, I keep playing over and then move forward. Is not to say, having good sound although it helps to train for hours.

It's my turn to post an opinion, I install this kit on a Gibson Les Paul Custom, a branch head peavey 6505 cab and a marshall 1960a, microphones are prcis (comparsa my DiMarzio pr cdents, trs draft)
I won the sustain, dynamics, sound is slamming.
Then follow the EMG trs good violin making, those who find them are rotten grralement possedeent of those scratch wooden crate.
So be careful this is not a micro miracle, he must make a good violin in the tooth for me, the warmth of mahogany is perfectly transmitted and the unique to its heavy les paul.

I find a personal injury and I prfr the 60 TFW, but the good light is not really my cup of tea.
I find the pickups are exellents comparsa all those I have tried several Seymour, Dimarzio Dp evo air norton, gibson ....
they are the best I've tried yet.

and if the price is not given between 160 to 215th the kit is not given but it's hard to be I think.

They could call this set the “All purpose EMG set.” When you get a guitar with EMG pickups the odds are good that it will have this set of pickups in it. This set contains the EMG 81 and 85 pickups. Both of these pickups can be used in the neck or bridge position but traditionally with this set you will have the 81 in the bridge and the 85 in the neck. The 85 is great in either the neck or bridge but the 81 is only good in the bridge. These pickups are well known and have been around since the 70s and kings of the metal guitar scene since the 80s. The 81 is a workhorse bridge pickup for heavy music. The active preamp on the pickup gives you a ton of top and sizzle that lets you cut through no matter what you are playing. It is pretty much impossible for an 81 to sound muddy. The 85 is the 81s fat cousin. It has way more low end beef to its tone. It does not have as much top end sizzle but makes up for it with the thickness. The 85 can get muddy because of this so be careful. This extra beef makes it better in the neck position than the 81. In the neck position the 85 is as smooth as silk with its extra beef and low end. The 85 is great for singing high gain leads. The 81 in the neck isnt as great. Because it is so high end based it does not give you a proper neck position tone. The only people who use 81s in the neck are people who want their neck position to sound like the bridge position but if you want your neck pickup to sound the same as the bridge why bother even having it. With their active design these pickups provide great sustain because they use slightly weaker magnets but with the signal amplified later on by the active preamp. You need a 9v battery for these pickups to operate. If you are looking for a trusty set of active EMG pickups there is a reason so many guitars come with these.

I want my turn to leave a comment about the EMG Zakk Wylde kit.

First of all it consists of an EMG 81 and an EMG 85, for my part I respect the handle assembly 81 chevalet/85.

The kit has been installed on a Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Level mounting is nothing difficult, a soldering iron, the plan, the kit lol
Easy to assemble without any problem comes.

My Les Paul to a new life thanks to these new micro !!!!!!!!

The sustain is increased tenfold, sounds well balanced.

In its clear you have to play with volume and tone to get crystal clear sound good, my preference turns to his neck pickup for 85.

In disto comes in on the metal / hardcore, the sound is clear and precise heavy purely magnificent palm mute or solo!

With my Les Paul for 10 years now I had tired of this side a little bluesy, not unpleasant but far from my group predilection like Hatebreed and Slayer consort lol not to mention our friend Zakk lol

I want to clarify that even though the aim of this kit is resolutely metal (EMG is not a reference in the popular dance lol), blues rock and other music are less barbaric quite feasible and with good results from addition.

I could not live without this kit, the les paul just becoming my best guitar!
