I installed this Custom 69 pickup set on my Mexican standard Strat.
The original sound was quite thick, characterless and muddy and had not enough dynamics. It was a battle everyday to try get a good sound out of this guitar!!
With the '69 pickups, it's a fully different story!!
The sound is extremely dynamic, the overall response is brilliant and the clean sound is crystal-clear!!
Positions 2 and 4 are amazing for clean sounds!
Crunch sounds are great because each of the five pickup combinations sounds clearly different. I wanted the same sound as Kenny Wayne Shepherd and I got it.
These pickups match exactly the expectations you usually have of a high-quality Strat!
This set is also ideal for funk licks.
It sounds alright for Vaughan-like blues stuff if you have a powerful overdrive pedal.
The sound is also perfect for blues songs in Kenny Wayne or Clapton style.
I don't regret having bought them.
It took me one hour to install them on my guitar.
Don't hesitate, just buy them! Trust me, you won't regret.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again!
