They provide a very wide and warm sound.
The sound is more precise, lows are more present, high-mids are smoother. The sound is wider and less tight. It's more a blues sound than a rock sound. Perfect for arpeggios because it's well-defined.
Surprisingly, they generate less noise than the original pickups of my Japanese Strat. The neck pickup is just fantastic. Position 2 sounds wonderful and dynamic. The guitar has still the same sound character because the original pickups were very good, but now it sounds smoother. I play blues and the crunch sound is wonderful. They provide the legendary Strat sound (the reason why we buy this guitar). I give them a 10.
