Best value:
Poor
It's all lamps, 50w. Side settings are made in the basic, therefore, strictly necessary. A volume, a setting for treble and basta. The use may be diverted, in part using the amp + an external HP or HP's use of an external amplifier. I have not tested these configurations do not interest me.
Initially, I wanted to ask the right model over the Axis. This model is not available or more, I took the version "Back". It is ultimately a good choice because the sound is directed towards you and not to the knees And by placing the back near a wall, one can very well ask the Axis above.
UTILIZATION
The manual? What manual? Given the limited settings, in other words that there is no need.
SOUNDS
The Atomic is not supposed to have its of its own. Rather, it is supposed to be "right" to reproduce the exact sound that injects him. So I use it with the Axe FX Ultra and four guitars:
American Standard Strat pickups with Hepcat.
Two JEM
A Lag Imperator 500.
The Ultra respecting the grain of the guitar, the guitars are not betrayed by the passage in the Atomic. Instead, each change of guitar is an opportunity to rediscover their grain.
Some say that 50w may be insufficient to play in a group of nags. I play in a cover band Pop / Rock with a rhythm section that is not really in love. Bah, no worries for me what is heard, all at half volume. Already, it sends heavy!
on the other hand, with the Atomic facing you as any other back, you are exposed to feedback on sounds very saturated. So I made another choice: Put the Atomic behind me. Its inclination is that the sound reaches me very well and I avoids feedback.
Others say that Atomic are not really human, not really FRFR. Perhaps. Personally, it does not shock me. I think the Atomic goes very well with the Axis. It can only be a level of simulation that we would not even dream about before the release of the Axis. Of course, the fundamentalists will find lamp stack all the missing Mojo which makes all the difference. They might be right. But the Atomic Axe + is a compromise that can have a max of different sounds in only 4.5 kg rack.
Compared to an amplification type FRFR return or amplified sound system, the Atomic brings the fat lamp, definitely.
Another advantage: I can play at home at a very low volume, the sound is excellent also in these conditions.
OVERALL OPINION
I've had 3/4 months.
I once had a Marshall 20/20 and a 1960AV cabinet. I loved the sound obtained with the Axe FX Ultra. But the sound Marshaux dye lot, my settings were no longer viable once at the requisitioned 'plugged into the sound system. So I sold it, with a small tear anyway, my Marshall set to invest in Atomic. The goal was to have a right to amplification deemed to have no surprises in FRFR in snooze 'or live. I can now adjust the axis on the Atomic and find my sounds the same on the sound system.
The only downside to the Atomic is its price: 950 euroballes 50W and one for HP, it's overpriced. Especially as to be on top, it would take two to enjoy the stereo. And there, the bill strikes a little too eye.
But I do not regret my purchase. For now, it suits me perfectly ...
