Game changer for tube amp tone on 50 watt fender bassman 1970
Published on 04/08/23 at 10:16This is a game changer for tone. I used to struggle to get the right tone with the right volume with my tube amp 6v6 1970 silverface bassman 50. Now I have sold my multieffect pedal and this is all I use guitar and bass and it is heaven.
This passive attenuator was so easy to dial in tone and to switch tones as styles of music changed. I used to get complaints for being too loud before using the attenuator. Now, I see more and more people digging our bands sound and the dynamics of my amp are so easy to control.
Other attenuators are not even in the ballpark. The powerbrake marshall makes I returned in a few weeks because it didnt do anything noticeable. Other attenuators are not even in the ballpark. The powerbrake marshall makes I returned in a few weeks because it didnt do anything noticeable. With the this attenuator I can get my amp to breakup at any volume. Even my kindergarten classroom music class can listen to my tube amp without complaining if being too loud.
This is a tool that every tube amp owner should have. I added the headphone and line out and footswitch features to the attenuator for an added cost. This attenuator makes it easier to hookup any tube amp to any size speaker as opposed to having a different tube amp for every size or ohm differing speaker.
People that say the attenuator doesnt make it crunch enough dont understand the purpose of the attenuator. It is not meant to be an overdrive pedal. It is meant to allow you to turn up your volume to the ideal setting and control how loud the audience heads the music without make the sound too loud.
If you simply want a dirty channel, use an amp with a dirty channel and add the attenuator so you make sure that when you use your overdrive that you dont need to have separate pedal to boost the sound. The attenuator controls the volume and allows you to bring up your tone to match any room.
I have been performing music as a professional since 2001 and I have worked as a sound crew, stage crew, performer, teacher, band director and asked lots of detail questions about the thousands of dollars I have spent in gear. I have taught over 13,000 students as well. I use the attenuator for several hours a day with my classes in classroom music and everyone loves my sound.
Get one of these attenuators and match it to the right size amp and you will see what I am talking about. Dont just play it for an hour, take it on a few practices and gigs and see how the audience reacts when you get too loud and use the attenuator to fix the tone.See less00
