«  Good but not great. »

A spring reverb with old, in a box that fits on a pedal, pushing its neighbors (26 cm long, anyway).
In addition to an input and an output, one from the rear face of the two inputs to connect footswitches that will replace the two pedal sported. There is also an input for 9V (classic, negative center) to power, no alternative.

UTILIZATION

Usage is simple: a footswitch to trigger the effect, a second to move from a "preset" to another, and two pairs of knobs and tone level that speak for themselves.
One of two "presets" is supposed to have a longer resonance; I do not actually observed. Other ears may hear it.

I do not remember if I have a manual, but not required.

In use, I think pressing the footswitches can cause some noise in a live context. Already, taking care at home, we feel that it moves there. The use of external footswitches is most likely the solution: these entries are a very good idea.

SOUND QUALITY

I'm keyboardist and with this use, not everything is simple: keyboards can often hit a little strong in the spring and it saturates.
You can love it; but it would have to rest a minimum mastered. I think a couple of controls input and output volumes could sort it out, like Demeter Reverbulator.

That being said, when the settings are made, the Headroom just brings it surround need: you do not hear it, and then when you cut it, you realize it was there and she will lack.

With a guitar, the reverb sounds good and does its job more than properly. We find everything that is typical of this now classic effect.

OVERALL OPINION

A nice little spring reverb, I just used finally; I think the sell for this reason. What we love most is that it is "the real thing" in a relatively compact box. What we love the less is the noise caused by handling, minor inconvenience saw its footswitches inputs.

I have not tried the Van Amps, but the lack of volume settings of input - output makes me think that I will meet the same disadvantages with synths. Perhaps Reverbulator hard to find in Europe, would be my choice if it were to be remade.

Overnight, the EHX Cathedral gives me satisfaction: Grain simus spring enough to color my instruments in order to marry a guitar, and it takes a little less space.

The Headroom does nonetheless a nice effect.
