Published on 09/17/13 at 03:52Purchased to replace the original HP my Fender Blues Jr that I play with a baritone guitar with HPS-90 phatcat (it sends heavy!) Because this one helluva badly low and too colorful for my taste, at least for this use!
The Fane Studio 12L would not fit in place of the original HP, so I redid the front to avoid the ass slap in the transformers and the chassis of the amp ...
After that, it's THAT OF HAPPINESS! What HP!
Fini sounds too colorful, the sound is rich and powerful, the bass is the appointment or-ckel. Same amount in volume (as 15W lamps but still) the sound is never aggressive and is very well balanced. A real treat!
With overdrive and fuzz even the absence of color can not boost aggressive distortion frequencies (around 2.5 kHz), I keep a huge presence as I can raise the volume level of the distortion.
There may be even better HP but it does more than fulfill the goals I set for myself.
Personally its weight (8.6 kg) did not bother me because there is only one, but I'll think 2 times before equipping a 4x12 cab!
