Cotton webbing, thick enough, the texture of course grabbed the shoulder can be quite heavy bass without fear that it pitches down.
The ends are made of leather "velvet" flexible enough: according to the position of attachment on the instrument, the "strap lock" (or bottle seals Fischer) may be useful.
Please note that the control loop (also effective) is metal, and may knock on the finish of the instrument if you are not careful when handling.
