Value For Money :
Excellent
ARTEC provides wah entry level. This does not mean low quality, as we shall see.
- Fully analog
- Switches to optical detection
- Mechanical switch
- Control the frequency range scanned (range)
- Bass switch for ... low
- LED on / off
- Potentiometer "wish" to add resonance to be the lightest kind of controllable feedback
- Battery powered or 9V adapter (not supplied transformer)
Entry level, but oddly well built. Quality workmanship and perfect finish.
UTILIZATION
Setup is extremely simple and intuitive.
The scale is sensitive, precise and progressive, at least on the model I own (see previous review).
The mechanical switch is properly calibrated.
The two potentiometers are also progressive and sensitive.
I would have preferred knobs arranged on the side to be accessible to foot, including the effect wish to play with live.
SOUND QUALITY
Well again, the quality is by appointment.
The wah is quite modern, but the possibility of playing on the frequency range swept brings true versatility.
The effect is very present, even quite dramatic and personally I would have liked to play a potentiometer on the Q-factor (intensity of effect), providing a bit more nuance to this effect.
Most of this is the wah effect Wish: it controls a loop resonance in short, a sort of feedback domesticate. This makes the effect even more spectacular wah. At maximum, the feedback completely covers the sound of the guitar. This produces a kind of theremin ®, a siren whose frequency is controllable foot (much like how the wah sing Singing Geisha Jacques, for those who know ??!!). It's a bit hidden effect of this pedal. Interesting and unexpected.
Writ of beautiful sounds, maybe a little too pronounced, and indeed wish surprising and atypical.
OVERALL OPINION
This is an entry-wah quite surprising.
By its quality first. By then his versatility. And effect "wish" really unusual and surprising, even a sort of hiding ® Theremin.
Wah that is worth seeing for its excellent quality / price ratio and its capabilities.
