USE

The settings are not simple (despite only two pots), but with a little patience you get there ... it all depends on what one is looking for.

SOUND QUALITY

As said above, it depends on what you want: you have to know where we are going with this pedal but if it is known, it can be quite terrible!
Beautiful people is used (Flea, Mr. Einziger) it's not for nothing.

NOTICE GLOBAL

UTILIZATION

Despite its two knobs it is not so easy to find the right balance between dynamically based attacks in the game (fingers, pick, wood logs ...) and the range of desired effect depending on whether you want slamming a game live, which engages the attack as the strings or a big sound very full bass and all relative at the neck of the instrument (in the treble or bass). I got it at Guitar Center for only 30 bucks! Retail price is about $100 though so others may not be so lucky.

For only 30 dollars, this was an excellent effect. I wanted a wah but couldn't at the time so I got this instead. I love the sound! It makes great wah sounds. And with all knobs at 10, it sounds like a screechin cat!

Battery's run out quickly. But that's about it.

It is made of metal, and is pretty lightweight. It actually was dropped on accident on concrete but it was not scratched at all, and the sound was perfect!

If you love funky style music, or you like to have a screamin sound, this is a great pedal for you!

UTILIZATION

There are only two knobs and happily. The Range can be set all the sauces as you got on the other hand, unnecessary Exceeds 3 / 4 of the Sensitivity, a hand in every way and your review will be taken according to the diff rent power supply you use.

SOUND QUALITY

Purists know ZE sound of the FX-25 even if we believe less and less.

Without touching the buttons, you can qualify simply by rendering the position of the right hand and by the attack. The quality is the same but still leaves the field a little intuitive.

Rglages picky (see Use), which provides even greater pride and happiness in the end.
Did not mind "clan fermquot; those possde something rare, I am" for "this kind of pedals are dveloppe but hlas, it is clear that in this area, it is indboulonnable.
The FX-25B has no grain hlas!

The DOD FX25 Envelope Filter comes in a few different versions, but this review is for the older one as shown in the picture.  I believe there is a newer model of the pedal that has three parameters rather than two, but none of them are currently be made anymore.  This is an analog pedal with 1/4 inch connections and powering options for a nine volt battery or power supply.  This isn't rack mountable as it is a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

Using the DOD FX25 Envelope Filter really couldn't be any simpler.  The pedal has two knobs for range and sensitivity, and that's all that you have to work with with the FX25.  This makes using the pedal extremely user friendly, but does limit what you can do with it a bit.  I don't think that anyone at all with have problems understanding how to use this pedal, but if you are an absolute beginner and aren't sure what the parameters do or mean, the manual should be able to help you out, though I don't think it is necessary.


SOUND QUALITY

I haven't used the DOD FX25 Envelope Filter on any sort of recording, but have used the pedal in tandem with a Fender Strat and a '76 Fender Twin Reverb, so I got a pretty clean idea of what the pedal sounds like.  You can definitely do some interesting things with the DX25, but as far as sound quality is concerned, this isn't my favorite pedal.  It isn't as realistic or clean sounding as I would expect more modern versions of the pedal to be.  However, the pedal definitely has some merit as it can be used in a lot of creative ways.  I do wish that it was a bit more versatile, but the basic sounds that you can get are pretty cool and useful.


OVERALL OPINION

This version of the DOD FX25 Envelope Filter won't cost you too much money at all if you want to seek out a used one, which is probably the best thing that the pedal has going for it.  It allows users access to some cool auto and envelope filtering at a very low cost.  There are certainly a ton of pedals out there that sound better than this one and are more versatile, but if you want a guitar envelope filter that will cost very little to start off with, the DOD FX25 is something worth checking out for sure.

It's a great deal considering its secondhand price but it's very difficult to find one on the market since it's discontinued...

If you find one, buy it without hesitating: it's a collector's item!
