Published on 05/04/12 at 11:49I have not tried many models before it, but compared to the headphone output of my mixer soundcraft EPM8, there is very little difference in sound:
Very slight attenuation of severe (must listen and have the headphone that allows it), and very slight attenuation dynamics. An output power greater.
What is so special that you love the most, least?
As:
- The metal box
- The mono / stereo switch to allocate what goes in to the right jack (left + right). OR what comes in left and right RCA, Left + Right to mono
- The reserve of more than enough power.
- You can out in jack that comes in CAR, to head back to return an amp for example.
The Cons:
- The fragility of the button mono / stereo
- Separate RCA inputs (less common in PA)
- The huge 'POP' in the ignition and during connections. Put the headphones on when plugged in and turned everything. Same for the amp back if you attack an amplifier output of this box.
- If you enter a MONO jack from a source such as a mono auxiliary send (use to return), you will have only the left channel. And if you switch the button mono / stereo mode "single", you will have nothing. Why? Because the button "single" off the signal on the RING of the TRS to divide D and G. However, on a mono jack, the ring is the mass! The signal is on the TIP (tip) of the jack. Therefore no signal. Design error inexplicable.
Solution: have a mono jack cable on one side (single source) and Stereo Jack on the other, where the mono signal will be spread over the tip AND ring of TRS.
on the other hand, in terms of RCA inputs, everything went well. That between the left OR right, setting Mono, distributed over G + D. A stereo signal monaural, of course.
Value priced very good.
If we demand a return to the studio monitoring, I would not recommend this unit.
To use back musician, he is perfect.
