«  A very nice micro »

Value For Money : Excellent
I use this mic for a very short time. I bought the version with EW-jack for connection to HF transmitter, with the intention of doing it myself in the wired adapter for use with Phantom power supply (which I did, and frankly I do not regret not to have saved 150 euro by not buying the adapter MZA900P).

Before purchasing, I also tried the Sanken COS11 and the DPA 4080, which are not quite in the same price range. Of all, I preferred the Sanken but as I had to buy three lapel microphones, it was a bit heavy (I have other priorities). So I bought a MKE-40-EW and two AKG C-417-PP, both models are suitable for my use (and documentary interviews fixed).

The positioning of the MKE-40 course in determining the sound quality (most "difficult" to ask that the AKG C-417 which is everywhere), but once in place it does a good job, sounds rather good rejection off-axis (normal for a heart, will you say). Its output level is high, generally 12 dB greater (4 times more power) than my AKG C-417. Its level of background noise is low enough that it bothers me not.

I appreciate the accessory magnet for attaching the microphone on a t-shirt, no clip or pin (not necessarily need the string to hang it on the neck, probably with a good jacket but in this case the clamp is more appropriate).

In short a good mic, I found a very good price / quality ratio. Robustness to do with use.
