Excellent
To have had the enjoyment of a long amplifier QUAD 405 and QUAD prampli a 44, and APRS have had many amps of power tubes, I DCID to buy a power amp QUAD 909 for the web price is down from 1,500 in 1000 and sometimes less.
Some say it is a QUAD 606 manufactured in China and it is clear (it is made in China).
It is compact trs, PSE 12 kg and measuring 321 x 140 L x 240 H P. It is cast aluminum. The front diode possde a green / red tmoigne operation nominal.2 x 140 W into 8 ohms.
At the rear the two ways I think HP made of plastic a bit lightweight and positioning of Cables is not very practical. Between industry standardizes. Reset button of the relay. Connectors for ground Ampbus 99 (QuadLink) (I / O spares). Between modulator R / L RCA.
Essay and kept on 3-way speakers CABASSE Wing. Rsultats excellent and enjoyable for mdium the voices. The bass is sweet. The whole is neutral without plutt agressivit. It reminds me of McIntosh MC275 with more quickly.
The quality-price ratio is excellent when the 920 achte UK directly from ATV. 1200 euros in the European retailers.
I could compare it with a 606 mkII (500 used on Ebay). If it is really good dj, the QUAD 909 is better: more energy, more punch, more sweetness in the midrange and upper range.
Since 2010 I also have a system that QUAD 909 (black with blue LED) on the speakers MONITOR AUDIO RX8 with excellent results. I use a QUAD prampli 34. But still rsultats trs good when the signal comes from a good mixer.
