I use it for about 3 years. Since replaced by the HD518, which is a clone to 90% with new look and € 40 more than at the time (lol.).

This headset is excellent in my opinion especially for the price of € 69 paid at the time! Highs are for the present mids and bass very well made. It goes down really low for a "headphone". So much so that sometimes, in an action scene from the film, I thought I felt the ground tremble and I checked if I had not left my 2.1 kit .

I also use it with my digital piano and I am delighted with the result. Its super soft to the touch foams that support gently around the ears makes its wearing comfort for long hours, and without sweat or have traces as with other headphones :/.

Note that I often rode on the cable with the office chair, he has already fallen several times and I do not regret any loose connection or other oddities, only the foam had to be changed because there's 2 weeks yes, all parts are findable on the net.

With experience, I would do without the same choice problem.

J'aprecie especially comfort (no imitation leather sweat makes your ears: the place rigid foam trs but comfortable) and its robust appearance.

However, for sound is a disaster. Really too SPECIFICATIONS color, with a muffled sound that seems remote. You want to push the volume back to "feel" the music. APRS rglage several hours late equalizer on the amp, I russi find a sound that suited me but it's frustrating to come trs such extreme my. The fact that it is an open headphone can also generate those proximity (my roommate in the room thought I had a cot put the pc speakers when the volume was not that high.

I may eventually buy a headphone as apoint in case my main would be damn headphones but only occasionally.

5XX series from Sennheiser has a special aura. considered the top of the basket, it consists of several models for a long time. past few years, the HD515 plays the entry level audiophile this prestigious range.

it is criticized, some find it too heavy (sound), others not detailed enough.
all are right! The HD515 is not the best headphones ever!
BUT it is comfortable, gives a good stereo image, make all frequencies without much exaggeration, is cheap, is easily used, and there is strong!

this is still some good reasons to appreciate it.

his big brother HD555 is thinner, classy in rendering, but the price is higher.

The HD515 is still a very good headphones, listen to mp3 bad with him and you will understand: it is good enough to make people aware of the quality (good or bad) from the source!

Then, of course, the sound is more narrow than the larger, less refined, the bass is a little heavy, saturate a little fast sometimes, but again its modest price makes it a nice choice for beginners to headphones high ranges.
