Value For Money :
Excellent
I bought the JMLab Chorus 836v three weeks ago. I had previously Chorus 807V because the room where I listen to music is limited in size, but the sound did not suit me (too much metal, lack of medium).
I wanted to take over the columns, I hesitated between focal delta or Elipson.
When I heard the 836v in the auditorium les836v were by far the best (to my ear). The width of the spectrum is surprising, speaker size too!
The highs are very detailed, very clear. The medium is very present: low-level sound is very intelligible even when you are in another room. The bass is powerful, very detailed. The width of the sound spectrum is impressive because the bass and treble are very present. Therefore it is imperative to associate with a 836v amp with its "soft".
The first hearing with a digital amplifier had not liked the sound was metallic and very cold.
I'm trying to finish the break and the sound is excellent on all types of music.
I really like:
accuracy of acute
bass, very powerful and accurate
dynamism, the speaker responds "like clockwork"
I have seen warnings about the high power of the grave, but postionnées the speakers are very well balanced.
These speakers are really impressive, but to have good bass requires a large amount so I did not choose the 826V. The difference is real.
The only "drawback" could be the size of the speakers because they must be really far from the walls so they take up much space.
These speakers are a pair 1800E but I think it's a very good value for money.
The 836v is perfect for listening to blues electro rock formations or a few instruments. The acoustic songs are great to listen to. I do not know if an opera lover would choose these speakers for example.
I would do without hesitation choose
