Manufacture Japan. Matsumoku 79 or 80. This is a rare guitar! I struggled to find reviews or photos. Like most of this from scratch, the quality of wood combined and the Japanese perfectionism are waiting for you.

Quality finish off standard as we do not find that the signatures models. Mine has a sublime and rectangular markers pearl that differ from its listing on the catalogs of the time cognac finish.

Time does not suspend its flight, the guitar has two three cracks irrelevant, I can not say whether this is due to the wood or use the previous owner, but because it has been viewed more shocks, I would tend to the second option.
The handle has a profile in D and has hardly budged.

UTILIZATION

The neck is really nice. Or too thin or too thick. Anyway, it fits me perfectly. Standard size guitar has a template ES-175. Not too bulky, light enough, I love asking myself how anyone in a wheelchair to play some minutes.
Access to acute is not too bad, but hey, it's not a SG ...
Controls are effective, especially tones. It sounds like vacuum connected.

SOUNDS

I play blues, increasingly tinged jazz, sometimes rock. This is a guitar made for jazz all, but you can pull the blues, or even to indie rock (not too wild). I love the pickup! The sound is clear and bounces well as clear crunch. Side neck pickup, the bass is to go, but I wish more defined notes. I play 10-46, which goes perfectly with my fingers, but I think I have better results with a stronger pull (flat net can be ...). I did that for three weeks, I plan to make the deal and then see me for a final decision.
I play a Laney any cube lamp 12 which has a Tone EQ way. Through my multi effect, however, I manage to get the sound that I like quite easily.
I think not having a powerful enough to take the full potential of this guitar equipment. I am not a connoisseur archtop, I put a 7 in doubt.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had three weeks, and I love it. I do not play in amateur and considering the price and I touched (less than 300 euro) I consider myself more than lucky. Given the quality of the finish and wood, I'd say it's worth at least 800 euro in the state where I got it (probably more, even when you type in signing models). I went initially for a semi hollow, to go from jazz to rock, and I've tried a lot (type 335 and other). I was looking for a Japanese old but I could not find my happiness with my 500 euro budget. So I jumped at the Cygnus and I got a little crush. This is mainly due to the moment its aesthetic and comfort in. I think a good setting give me the satisfaction level, otherwise I would not hesitate to change the pickups. Given the quality of the violin, it's really worth it. I think I will keep this guitar a looooooong time.
