Gibson ES-339 '59 Rounded Neck

A custom shop Gibson Es made in USA with the mahogany neck rosewood key 59 rounded profile. The pickups are Gibson 57'classic bam home (alnico II). Standard 2 volume 2 tone settings. The semi hollow body is laminated maple. size is super comfortable between a Les Paul and a 335.

UTILIZATION

The handle 59 'rounded is very fat !!! I have big hands though !!! I had a fender a SRV in the past the handle was already not bad but this is even bigger. I liked but in the long access to treble was a little tricky ...
ergonomics of the guitar is great I did a lot of rehearsals and some concerts with ... and she did not particularly tired and I have never been disappointed!
Sound level sounds here after all !!! I just set up a few microphones and cords at my convenience is very personal (it's more microphones me not too high to keep the clarity and definition ...)
I play reggae style Afro Manding jazz blues rock ... especially in clean, crunch and with a tube screamer .... and here sounds great !!!! Guitar guitarist respects the game and is very reactive ... bliss !!

SOUNDS

This guitar has filled me in what I wanted to level the styles I did with (see above). You can almost do anything with jazz to rock ... well pissed The pickups are great for me ... I love the grain with alnico II is overcharged sweet as her .... the sound j ' heard in the records I listened to (sound serious jazz pickups is great to benson to scofiel ect ect !!!! bb king (blues) rock ACDC, Bob Marley and the Wailers with Al Anderson and Junior Marvin ... .ect ect).
I used it with my MesaBoogie mark 1 reissue and it was really great !!! I tried it in my jazz chorus 120 is not bad but it sounds much better on the lamp !!!!
I liked all of sonnorits this guitar !!!

OVERALL OPINION

it was my first Gibson she filled me !!! I can sell it for problems tunes .... and I am very sorry !!! For now the new price is too expensive !!!
However it really is a great guitar that must be tamed !!! ie adjust to taste and play a lot to appreciate it! It meets many of the game here and the owner is great !!! With this Es 339 you can play almost any sound .... and here !!! Sniff one day I can be ... but would resume a OCCAZ and sleeve 30/60 which I think is an intermediary between the end 60 and the 59'rounded but I have not tried.

This is a semi hollowbody Gibson guitar, ie it is provided with a central beam which shares two hollow wings on either side. The neck is mahogany, rosewood fingerboard and the hollow body consists only of maple. Made in the USA Custom Shop Gibson, it is based in fact the legendary ES 335 which would have reduced the body to a more manageable instrument and therefore meets the most current aesthetic standards. The handle can either be "60" type, that is rather thin and fast, or "rounded" (this is the case with mine), ie more massive (very close to that of a SG). 22 frets, a couple of microphones Classic 57/Classic 57 more managed by two volumes and two tones.

UTILIZATION

Aesthetically first this guitar is gorgeous, the finish is exemplary and she is always a source of admiring glances as soon as the fate of flycase.
Light, well balanced guitar provides access to proper treble halfway between a Les Paul and SG.
I acquired it used, it was very poorly resolved. Nothing fatal, but a small maintenance / setting / changing strings is imposed. The G string is always désaccordait (recurrent disease at Gibson due to the inclination of the head relative to the handle and thus the pressure between the strings and the nut), this problem is easily adjusted with a good pencil fatwood to lubricate the nut grooves and bridges.
One might think that such imperfections should not exist on this famous guitars and especially the price, but it is apparently often the second price tag at Gibson ...
Anyway, with a little equipment and two under care and D system, we quickly erase these little "flaws" more or less hidden.

SOUNDS

Vacuum already guitar sounds much more than a solidbody, with immediate acoustic side and logical given the structure of the beast. The air side of the sound is once again connected the guitar, and the neck pickup delivers the finest sounds that are clear (it clearly outperforms my SG and my Les Paul in this field). The sounds are at times brilliant, open and full, a pure delight!
Maple gives shine as the use of tone is more than welcome in some configurations, especially with the pickup.
In overdrive, the sounds are round and creamy, classic 57 excels at this game (in my opinion the best micro Gibson in the register). Then just make a turn and shuffle can improvise for hours without tiring, ecstasy!
If you push a little gain, microphones cashing without flinching and ACDC is just a pick ...
The attacks are dynamic, but still fat with this clarity typical of such models is simply ideal for the game rhythm.
If you push the gain beyond the big crunch, it is no longer possible, the feedback related to the hollow body becomes unmanageable.
Only tiny downside to my taste, the pickup seems to miss a bit of punch, but I confess to being difficult bridge pickups!

OVERALL OPINION

The ES 339 is a guitar that offers a nice compromise between a 335 ES too bulky for some and a Les Paul. The guitar is very versatile, equally at home in an arpeggio clear sound in a hushed blues or rock in a furious rhythm to Dave Grohl.
High gain followers of course spend their way, but for all other there is food to take a huge musical foot!

the essential point: ben mics like: 57 Classic! the soup or the bomb? to choose from! you can play from light jazz or ACDC! These pickups are a dynamic that shook the walls!

UTILIZATION

little sister of the ES 335 it has the qualities without the clutter! bravo.
22 frets, access to acute balance means not perfect but ...
sound? or rather the sounds! of the ball!

SOUNDS

Having 2 including a Gibson LP Custom with Tim Shaw pickups, + Start and a Jackson, he was missing more than a half case. I really made the right choice.
Soft sounds clear, sustain in saturated fat, one begins to BB King or B Gibbons!
I play 2 tt body lamps or on a hot rod US: the very different too!

OVERALL OPINION

I had and still have plenty of guitars to choose from, and this one, I have carefully considered before deciding that I needed, but I let her go!
In addition it is beautiful. (Vintage sunburst)
