This guitar is produced in Korea (hence the price), while the vast majority of the Gretsch catalog comes from Japan. It is a three-quarter body Venetian cutaway. The body is maple plywood, the handle as well (but solid) and rosewood fingerboard. It has two pickups DeArmond 2000 single coil. It has four controls: a micro volume, microphone volume 2, tone and master volume knob and a three position. The Bigsby is there especially for the style, being required to agree to random as possible. The finish is very correct. However, I regret the absence of case (Guild does for the same price acoustic) and the colors: they are not translucent but not terrible. The 5125 is black (a little sad), it exists in another reference in red and the rest is very kitch ...

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, access to acute correct, but no more (it's not a guitar virtuoso, either). It's fun to play a guitar, both sitting and standing, because the body is too bulky aps. It is light enough.

SOUNDS

The sounds are convincing. Hot enough for simple bob. You can do rock, surf the music, blues and even jazz if only one uses the micro severe acute cutting. In saturation, it's nice feedback and it does not go too fast. on the other hand I think the pickups are a bit of fishing and the guitar a little buzz as soon as the volume goes into overdrive. Problem of shielding or micro?

OVERALL OPINION

I think it's a nice guitar with a lot of character. I tried an Ibanez Artcore Custom, 335 way, the aesthetic is great, but the sound blah, blah. I regret a little buzz and the lack of potato micro as well as the choice of colors (but Gretsch ...). I bought it used just under 400 euros. She was just 6 less.
