    Vintage Advance AV2Published on 05/10/09 at 11:09
(This content has been automatically translated from French)
British guitar design and manufactured in China (and not in Korea as the seller made me think ...)
Wilkinson pickups, semi-hollow body (does not sound like a hollow body ...)
One volume, one tone, 3-position selector knob to a small and gradual transition from single coil to double (very nice)
The wood finish is good, but not bluffing, but still very honest. The varnish is messed up on my own, ie not regular when we look in detail at the light ...

A nice little guitar that lacks little to be really pretty. It is more angular than traditional TV, is like ...

    UTILIZATION

I went into a store to buy a permanent closure bottleneck, and then I'm left with this guitar. In fact, I played a couple of hours on it, and handle super easy seduced me. Really, this race was perfect for me ...
However, the strings tend to curl very quickly, especially since a change in firing.

Access to acute correct, supposedly facilitated by a small indentation for the thumb.

The guitar is very light and very good ergonomics. Only the position of the pickup selector bother me a bit.
The fittings are of very good quality, it's Wilkinson, reliable and accurate.
I find the chrome knobs really horrible way but that's not very important.
However, there are small cracks annoying when you touch the volume pot to switch single / double. Top top so no wiring.

But let's be honest, this is a skyscraper at 450 euros, and today we made good guitars for that price (say this range). There are small details regrettable but the invoice is generally very good.

    SOUNDS

While the resulting sounds are not super impressive, and they are desperately short of personality (especially when you love the sounds typed, and I do, I also play on a Les Paul and Gretsch Orville).
But the big advantage is the ability to move into position single or dual coil (and progressively). This gives a "spectrum" of sound rather large, and makes the guitar very versatile. Very useful when playing with different stuff or people.

Sound simple bob is very nice, very "strat" brilliant and punchy. This is my favorite. Dual position ... and although we get a more anecdotal effective, powerful enough but neither original nor bluffing, and finally cold enough.
Happiness is surely between the two, each one to find the right mix.
It exists on the site of the brand ( https://www.jhs.co.uk/vintageadvance.html ) 2 video demo. For my part, I find these demo nazes enough, not at all like the sounds produced, but do not refer to it. In any case my home, it does not sound like that, thank you god!

    OVERALL OPINION

I've had it three months, I use double when my other guitars are not available.

It's a good little guitar, very easy to play, not too distinctive, finishing with correct and honest sound. This is great for the price.
She is neither beautiful nor ugly, but suddenly without personality, his versatility is very valuable.

This model is very rare in France (try to find one, including the web), anyway, it is better to buy in England for the price. It's nice but it will not become a collector.

It suffers a little lack of brand awareness Vintage, particularly in France. It's a shame because it is a very good product. Do not stop at the "Made in China" that drives the point home.

But again, it is still super easy to play, it's madness. Its handle has inspired me to buy this guitar which, however, did not please me at all. it's worth a try if you find it!

I recommend it to a beginner like a scratch again confirmed but not rich, and has not yet chosen sides (or Fendoch Gibson, pffff ...).

I do not know if I would do this choice. I'm having really with repeating, you can fool around playing, transporting a motorcycle in the rain or sits casually in a corner without fear of damaging it like a real good guitar.
But it lacks a little excitement when this little one's out of his bag, and one feels obliged to explain to others that yes, it looks cheap, but it's still a very good guitar to 3000 .... FF ..!
