Crel T-Rex

Used for several months on an ESP Horizon.
I had not tried everything in assets and liabilities at SD and DM EMG. I was in a bit bored and I felt like having toured all they offered. Although not necessarily disappointed by all this, I wanted to try something out just classics. While searching I came across the brand CREL and I'm told, after all, why not try and plus it's French. I bought three models the Serial Killer, T-REX and Heavy GUN. I would not say here that the T-REX (later maybe for the rest).
First the desciption sound that is made by the micro CREL is perfectly true. It is warm and round cut for couillu tock. good harmony and good fishing (for extreme brutality or he will take the best heavy-gun dug more). It raproche enough in consumer models to tone zone in any case it is one I found most resssemblant. In short I'm happy, only minor complaint being a little bit lack of sustain compared to other micro high gain but largely offset by a big presence. Playing with the volume or equalization we find very interesting sonss it opens other doors and making it much more versatile than many others. A split is clear by the evil example of all a lot better than its competitors. In short attaching a microphone that has great qualities and that has nothing to envy the famous brands. It took place at the start of a Lawrence 500XL in B & B and then I did not give too much of his skin he was eventually replaced. So for me it is a high quality microphone to rank among the best. I mounted the microphone Bridge in recent weeks on my easel Jackson JJ2 (through maple neck, ebony fingerboard, alder body, bridge tunomatic). It is mounted with its small COAINE, the CREL Falcon.
I did my tests on an H & K Tour Reverb and a Mesa Dual Recto head passed through a 3-channel speaker Randall RA412XLT Celstion mounted V30, and a head CANLASS a Marshall 1960A.
This microphone is the answer to all my expectations and the best example possible to demonstrate that it is not the output level of a microphone that makes a monster.
T-Rex is full, round and clear, distinctive midrange, with a holy potato on palm muting and harmonics, natural, artificial or whistling very "pure". The big sound is there. The advantage of the average output level + (380mVolts, 13KOhms, 5.8Henries) is that it allows for a real good clean round next to a real saturation. This micro cut the treble a bit, which gives a new dimension to the setting of the presence of tube amps: the coup, the knob is fully usable on all his race, without ever losing musicality, or become aggressive to the ears.
Another thing, very important to my Yuexi: it respects the amp it in the ass. It is often said that a good amp reacts differently depending on the guitar used. The fact is that it's a balance that must exist between the two. There I rediscovered my Mesa. Even if the microphone gives tone and roundness "tight", offering low, mid dose and (a bit less than this, and I like it) tweeter, it does not color the sound ringing ENGL and Mesa as cousins. The microphone has a type of sound and the amp can seize it and work. Although it is not neutral, it is respectful of the rest of the string sound, not like a Tone Zone or SH6.
And as in the string sound is always the most rotten quality that gives the signal, hence the need for a good scratch, a good amp and good cables is essential.
This microphone is excellent and in demand as the rest of the equipment.

After getting the Seymour Duncan, the DI Marzio, tested a lot of scratches in EMG, finished to lead me to find the right brand of microphone to my ears it CREL.

The T. Rex is mounted Crel (bridge) with a Crel The 666 (middle) and a Crel TV 666 (shaft) Lag Rockline on a guitar because the original pickups and no longer surprised that I wanted to be able to find from a simple change of switch (a switch with two positions microphone), sound like that big of a humbucker, the sound of a Strato and the sound of a TV (twang).

The attack set the amp in my life (a Mesa Boogie Simul Class III) and thus, of course, the three modes (clean, crunch and drive) with or without equalizer.

T-Rex, like the others, excellent. The output levels are high without being aggressive. It has an excellent definition and a beautiful roundness of her regardless of the mode (clean, crunch and drive) even with the volume knob to low.

From the attachment point, saturation, swells and is very audible even at maximum volume knob of the guitar mode drive (which can be very dirty quickly with a micro rough - a boogie ... do not forgiving).

All the notes of the chords sound very balanced way thus including serious saturation. Each mic offers a very good answer to the play of fingers or plectrum masi as the vibrato in the left hand.

Shades of the palm of the equalizer (frequency 750) are sensitive.

Live at last (the major test of course) the set is wonderful as it provides the expected response (and more) by the simple volume of the guitar and switches. Also note that the feedback take off is not too difficult a task if needed: o)

I would add that tested next to a Gibson ES 135 (Micros P100), the T-Rex has the same level and that, compared to a Fender Stratocaster The (Lace Sensor) or a TV, the single coils are very well them. For the three microphones, the grain is actually there! When the twang, friends ... might enjoy Roy Buchanan ...

I remember thinking that this just ruined Rockline was over. Microphones Crel have borne the little extra something that makes it is finally more than just guitar backup.

Big serious and very low in this medium, ideal for the proper application of heavy metal! Death, Neo, Trash, no worries, it happens!
Very dynamic, accurate, harmonics toues out alone on his own and it's really clear saturation is monstrously wicked!
The magnets AlnicoV bring a beautiful warmth to the sound.
Compared to a X2n, it is powerful, a little less anyway, but do not crunch in clean (unlike X2n very incisive).

Cheaper than X2n, more accurate sound, quality appointments and is French (let a little chauvinistic ^ ^) so the ratio Q / P excellent!
