I use it for 6 months on an Ibanez MC300 (mahogany body, maple neck through). I used to race as bridge and I like it a lot in these two positions. One of the best mics I had run, I think of a more acute wood could be funky when it is split, otherwise it is creamy but slightly slamming double, a real treat versatility and grain either.
In the bridge he found the potato and grain slightly creamy slamming / shiny and it's pretty cool. It makes a good mic for all who is going to be distortion and even very big distortion, it also passes very well in clean, he's missing that little shine to Tone Zone to be more versatile. I was just a TZ bridge before putting the micro Norton and it is close enough in definition and output level, the Norton is just a little brighter, a little snapping, a little more versatile. I Pecis with the wood and the construction of my guitar I have great low and mid-bass, maybe a guitar with wood it would become more acute, perhaps a little garish, and the Tone Zone would be more appropriate ... A test.
Anyway I really like what Norton, just as accurate a Tone Zone and sweet but a little more singing / gloss. I close enough to the HS-4, but more defined, more precise, a little duller, but less bright, singing and clapping as Seymour.
