Aged pickups for your vintage Gibson

Seymour Duncan Antiquity HumbuckerPublished on 05/27/11 at 10:54
When you relic a guitar you are intentionally damaging it to make it look like it has seen years of playing. Seymour Duncan is bringing a type of relicing into the pickup world. When you look at the pickups in an old guitar you can tell the pickups are old and when you hear them you can tell they are old. Over time the electronics have been worn in. These pickups are not even wax potted. Seymour Duncan has gone out of his way to give the look and feel of an old piece of hardware. This vintage worn in tone is what guitarists love and now you can get it in a new pickup from Seymour Duncan. These pickups are not even wax potted. Seymour Duncan has gone out of his way to give the look and feel of an old piece of hardware. This vintage worn in tone is what guitarists love and now you can get it in a new pickup from Seymour Duncan. The Seymour Duncan Antiquity set is a set of custom wound humbuckers with a vintage sound and feel. The output is 7.8k in the neck and 8.5k in the bridge. Along with being hand made they are hand aged. The magnet poles and covers show the age you would expect from a vintage pickup. These pickups are buttery smooth. The voice of the pickups are also totally balanced between bass mids and highs. All of the harmonic range was well preresented and plentiful. The mid range is creamy through a Marshall and gives awesome tone. The neck pickup cleans up well and the bass never gets muddy. Even though these pickups are not wax potted they are not noisy at all. I had no problems whatsoever controlling the guitar. The non-potted design really helps contribute to the top end sparkle as well as a bit of the mid-range “honk” as the internal sonic vibrations within the pickup are all “on the verge” of feedback. Because the Antiquity was so controllable, I could enjoy the tones and feel of the these pickups rather than dreading them and hoping not to break out in uncontrolled feedback at any second. If you have a vintage Les Paul that needs some new pickups but want to retain the vintage look, these pickups will fit right in and no one will know your electronics are from this century.

Copies of old PAF hyper realistic.

I had already tried the same set before you buy, there are three and a half years and knew in advance that it would suit my Les Paul Traditional.
The market is full of excellent replica PAF's and bad too. The peculiarity of these is to have undergone artificial aging while other copies are rather those of PAF's what the time of their youth. Dimarzio also does but I find it terrible.
The result is absolutely stunning, they sound sweeter than the other copies, even at Seymour Duncan. Their output level is normal, there is no question here of super hot.
While this does not mean much, they are alnico II. A pure delight to play super clean to light crunch.

Associated wiring 50's Gibson, I did not know at the time of my purchase, I am even more pleased and was able to remove the treble bleed that I had added to the modern circuit. Can decrease the volume without losing treble not undergoing imprecise treble bleed.
Unlike Les Paul Reissue equipped pickups Gibson Burstbucker pro and extremely expensive, my Traditional provides real sounds vintage to perfection, as if she was 50 years old.
Straight from the States, the set did not cost me much.
They are the opposite of my set Rio Grande boiling hot, just as good to play something else.

The sound is superb, defined, warm, open.
To be mounted on a very good violin to draw the quintessence.
Slight downside: the low E sounds too but I think it's the guitar.

We availing oneself with my father for 2 months, we install the kit on neck & bridge half an aria pro II fund, it sounded good dj but a bit messy. The bridge has earned us the clarity and sound DEFINITIONS. It's a very vintage microphone, and ragit very well to changes in attack. Blues, rock, old hard rock, has done really well now (I would say even magic!)
seymour made by the package is really good (at the same time considering the price).
I will ever be widely that choice for another guitare.Il a price lev enough but its worth a cot.
