I have not tried other model before purchasing.
I find it very good to play in distortion, but clearly it is a little too loud or aggressive.
Price / quality ratio ... it is a little below the SSL1 I own too, but I think this is the correct price for a humbucker.
I think yes, I would do the selection, but before can be trying if there are microphones in the same range in less garish clean.
