Music Man Sixty Five
Published on 07/28/03 at 15:00Got this used from The Guitar Clinic in Hamilton Ontario in about 97. Original purchase sticker still on inside of amp. "Long and McQuade 1979"
$500 in pretty good shape.
The Clean was as sweet as any I had heard before, including a fender twin. at less than half the cost of a twin. Yes, only single channel (two inputs, one with tremolo - no overdrive), but nothing a stomp box couldn't solve.
After experimenting with a mesa bottle rocket preamp pedal, sound is reasonably good for rocking songs, but not heavy. The transistor stomp boxes i find sound too buzzy through this amp. I'm right now searching for an amp to dedicate for distortion, so as to a/b and use the musicman for clean.

I cannot express how good the clean is. If you can find one of these, try it out.
I don't like how the original tremolo/reverb pedal is rca in. ugh. other than that. this amp is what it is. a great sounding single channel amp that you can find at a good price used.
Heavy as hell. But could withstand a nuclear assault.
If you play a majority of clean fendery sounding songs, you have to try this amp. If you use distortion at all, you should probably look elsewhere, or bi-amp as I am intending to do. I'm not going to lose this clean sounding amp.
