I bought 2 of these preamps, some eyes closed, because there is not a lot of opinions on the net ..... and this is a shame, because they really deserve to be known!
I was previously a fan inveterate John East preamps that cost a fortune, but they are excellent .... big disadvantage: the original bass sound is not respected, and the signal is really boosted too (even with the minimum volume trigg)
The preamp is supplied fully wired, they are no more that micro soldering it.
Components: visually, pots and son are cheap, and you do not necessarily trust the result we will get ..... but you will see that this is a misconception!
In my case, the jack NOLL was not compatible with my ibanez, so I reused this one by welding the preamp ... easy to do.
DOCUMENTATION: English and really succinct, but it is true that there is not anything else to do than to weld the son mics balance, and this is explained with a diagram.
In my case, I had to remind Luthimate (importer of French NOLL) as the preamp for ibanez (volume / bass / treble, balance because without one single microphone), the record does not indicate or weld the son of mike: they informed me on the field, it was perfect.
I looking for a preamp cheaper to equip my Jass Bass Stevie G with 2 Seymour Duncan Antiquity and my Ibanez Gary Willis fretless GWB35 passed by the former owner in passive. I wanted the sound repecter passive instruments, so a neutral preamp does not color the sound.
- Preamp truly neutral
- Make passive push pull in the knob volume.
- Important note: the passive preamp operates even if the battery is dead (which is not always the case with other brands)
- Range and treble frequencies well studied (for treble or bass only screaming below)
- Volume and balance very progressive
BIG ADVANTAGE OF THE BRAND:
you can make a preamp card: choose the number of knob you want, or not concentric with adjustable frequency or not for each control (bass, medium, high), additional passive tone ....
-> In my case, it was important, I was able to order it for my preamp ibanez fretless with only 3 pots for 3 settings (volume, bass, treble) and especially NO balance (it has only one micro !).
From another brand, it would have to make a special order, or play the soldering iron to remove the knob balance .... but I'm not a beast in this area!
Anyway, look at the site: a type of preamp (eg 2 bands), there are 5 or 6 options Wirings possible ... just AWESOME!

It comes prcabl is welded both as a son of the micro Specifies the instructions and it works. The welds are clean, clutter is really minimal, house the remains stack!
The door can be BMOL on the quality of potentiomtres who work cheap but still good and trs are linear.
the configuration is simple:
- A volume push / pull active / passive (works in liability if the battery is HS or got)
- A low knob with center detent
- A treble knob with center detent
The sound is really trspchu, corrections are very efficient trs (+ / - 15dB) and therefore linear with the suitably usable potentiomtres that are not only the numbers.
Noise / ngligeable breath is my opinion but I play in groups, I do not register in the studio, it says the quality seems sufficient. (Noll is about to Mayones is far from being the m. ...!).
The record is sufficient to the extent or is wired.
I put a big 10 for under 60 euros trying to find equivalent.
So, it is possible that a Shark Status silent and passive at once is a BIG boost ... adpote monstrously.
The sound is punchy and trs prcis (well, it's also Status) with the growl. I like the bass to the treble and three quarts of the neutral, it's big sound full of deep infrabass.
The same subjective is when I have not tried anything that is on my Status, I wanted an upgrade drinking cheap aadpass my sprances and low I dlaissait for active for a while becomes prfre my bass ...
Then another 10 because I thought the room rate just drinking something and it is finally really good.
I use it for about 6 months:
- The minimum size that allowed a pose under the pickguard and the knobs between pramp. still accommodate the battery, I renounced my part to wreck my bass and have a possible female minijack on Pickard and a male minijack on the stack. It's clean, the battery in a pocket on the strap and presto!
- The sound! It's a big kick in the Q!
- The knobs with a center detent
- The push-pull active-passive, which allows you to find the sound of the liability at times!
- The srieux of Luthimate (supplier on the net)
- THE PRICE: - 60!!
I love pbr /> - the quality of the knobs, see time at the moment it works flawless.
- I would take great ERRF with three bands! TCM3 98.
Finally: the notes are in relation quality price Whereas, I did not test in my Aguilar low, the J-retro srement is better, but that price is not even on occasion.
