Electro-acoustic guitar bought in London 5 years ago, format semi jumbo cutaway. Wood table and back me look massive (spruce tinted clear which suits me), rosewood (from somewhere, but where?). mechanical oil bath. plastic frets (which will one day be changed to the bone)

Electronic side: a sub-micro nut (piezo), powered by 9V battery, a jack, and the son that connect everything. Simpler, I do not know.

No pickguard.

Varnish very brief, that "bubble" and scale quickly, including playing without a pick. In addition, it seems very thick.

Note: it seems that the production is "at hand" somewhere in Vietnam ...

UTILIZATION

I have two caractéstiques crucial to choose my instrument, handle and sound.


So nice to handle my rhythm playing (essentially barred), which does not prevent me to pick a few bends on occasion. The handle has a width intermediate between classical guitar and electric guitar (not normal?)

Regarding access to treble: no worries until the 15th. Beyond that, my big sausage fingers are struggling to avoid friezes.

SOUNDS

I have a sound that, in my opinion, reduces the projection of the middle of the spectrum (mediums), while defining the treble and bass sending more defined and powerful.

Otherwise, it projects too shy to accompany the songs. But it's not bad for evenings by the fireside, or a djembe perceived (but think about taking a pick anyway to gain power).

If I amplifies ... is more flat, DI output. The microphone seems to be caught in the entry-level models. Considering the price of the guitar, I did not expect to have a product out of a custom shop takamine with lamp and others. Anyway, my amp (Bahringer ACX-1000) second well to straighten me sound like I want (a bit simulation for heat lamps, equalization goes well, a touch of chorus).

Rating: 8 for its acoustics, 5 for the electro sound (but that can always change this aftermarket)

OVERALL OPINION

Used regularly for 5 years (roughly 5h/semaine). I still enjoy playing it ... until my string Martin light / medium phosphore/bronze- are worn (ie every 4-6months). The sound has certainly evolved, maybe a little less defined today ... but I want to blame the varnish (yellowing) on ​​this point. It really is the weak point of the guitar, like electronics.

I have not tried many other models (between 5 and 10?), But hey, sometimes you have THE sound you are looking for, and it is not worthwhile to look further. Really happy with my choice, even though (or because?) Is a guitar found this side of the Pacific Ocean, she has beautiful hips, she just sings and strong ... and I would not hesitate if I had to make that choice! (No offense to my wife)
