Korg celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Keytar RK-100 with a new RK-100S version that we show you from the NAMM Show 2014.
This new version of the keytar retains the original design of the RK-100 with many enhancements.
You’ll find in the RK-100S 200 programs, including algorithms for the dual built-in oscillator (saw, square, formant, noise, PCM/DWGS waveforms), waveshaping tools (decimator, hardclip, sub-osc…), high, low, band and thru-pass filters, sounds from the microKORG XL+, a switchable arpeggiator with 6 arps, a vocoder with adjustable level and pan for each band, a 2-band EQ and 17 effects.
The Korg RK-100S is bi-timbral via Layer, Split, Multi features and supports a maximum of 4-voice polyphony (with the vocoder enabled).
The keyboard has 37 velocity-sensitive notes but no aftertouch, and is mounted on a wooden structure that also hosts a 1/4” input, 1/4” headphone, stereo and line outputs, a USB type-B port and a 3 digit LED display.
The RK-100S can be powered with 6 AA batteries (4 hours of use approximately) or an external power supply. It is available in three Black, White and Red finishes/
This new keytar is expected in stores in June, for a price that is still to be announced. You’ll find more technical info at www.korg.com.
