I compare neumann microphone to PRS guitars
we may not like the sound but when it was in hand
we know that we have an exceptional tool ...
unfamiliar with other neumann
I still even prfr this one at U87 that is offered to me
and also a VM1 brauner ... (which did not fit my voice)
but in hindsight I do not see how one can dcrire sound
a microphone preamp seen that highlights a particular characteristics
or sometimes even his ...

I portico and the portico gard for my voice is what sounded best

I put this post to encourage people who are seeking a couple mic preamp
try by them ... even the forums are useful to discover the diversitbr /> but the choice depends on your tastes and your means ...

Zic good amigos

The are great things about this microphone and some not so great. First the technical side. The front end response as you sing into the mic is great and it can take a great deal of level which I like for female or Rap vocals. The only thing that I don't like is for softer vocals, uncompressed, I like mics to have a bit more top end or high end. Basically this is a lead vocal microphone or a room microphone. For guitar amps that have a great deal of clean output I think it sounds good. Female vocalist don't need that extra boost at 3k that all Neumann's possess. Three patterns and this does sound a bit like the original but not exactly. I owned a pair of matched U67's in the 1990's and we used them daily on just about everything in the studio and at all times on vocals. In fact the U67 was so in demand that if you did not have one at your studio it would be hard to get professional clients to record at your facility. The U67 TLM is a bit different in that it does not have the same warmth that the original mic and it was evident on vocals right away as well as piano. This mic was a bit brighter then the old 67 and some producers like that effect or frequency on their vocalists as it is more of what some of the pop singers are recording like today. They take all the low end out of their voices and all you hear is top end and high mid range tones. I would say that this mic is best used for applications such as voice, guitar, acoustic guitar, sax, trumpet, but I did not like it much for guitar amps. I use to use the old 67 on amps and it was my go to mic for amps in general, however this mic was not like that. It is more specific and the 3 patterns did not have as much coverage as my old 67. Now in comparison to the newer mics or cheaper mics, it is a way better buy. It is very pricey for a mic but if you mostly need a great vocal mic you would have to ask yourself if you want to spend that much on one mic. We buy mics all the time so for us it is not an issue at all.

OVERALL OPINION

I like this mic for hard hitting vocals and drum room mics. I don't like it for snare, toms, floor toms, or any other drum sounds. If you have singers that produce a great deal of high mid tones, look into a real U87 or U67 (the best mic every made).

Neumann TLM67 SetZ Large-Diaphragm Microphone is a recording mic but that can be used also for live performances.
It uses a condenser technology.

OVERALL OPINION

Neumann TLM67 SetZ Large-Diaphragm Microphone is a pro mic provided by Neumann company.
The TLM 67 microphone can support sounds pressure levels of up to 105 dB without any kind of distortion, it also has a dynamic range of 94 dB , without the use of the pre-attenuation
feature.

What I like most about it the 3-directional modes features that are omnidirectional , cardioid and figure-8.

I also must mention the fact that it balances great the voice and vibrato and also it captures even the more airy notes that sound good artistically.

This mic also has a high-pass filter which is quite handy even if you're a pro or just an amateur, because it saves a lot of time when you're recording so that way you don't have to waste a lot of time putting some fancy filters and eq.

My opinion about the value of price is okay, however this mic I suggest to get only if you're very very serious about music and musical recordings mainly because the price of this product jumps around 2200 $, so keep that in mind when you're choosing your product.

However, the precision and quality of sounds is undoubtedly pretty much 10 of a ten, the quality of the recording is very high quality and pro, so if you own the money and you want a product for your own home studio this can be exactly what you're searching for.

I tried several condenser types of mics , this is probably the most expensive I ever tried, my only critique would be that is costs pretty much, apart from that, you can't really say nothing bad about it.

We heard everything about this microphone that finally we do not know what to expect ...

Good in this story conserne saturation frankly I do not understand! I just do the tests on congas and drums Cajon (certe less powerful as a battery) and I have not had any problems.

I will complete this review with my next tests taken.

The three directional are super nice to work. I love the color differences it offers.

Visually stunning ... The suspension is for me a Rycot USM-L and better suited 3times cheaper than proposed Neumann.

OVERALL OPINION

Already in terms of utiliation on voice can go from beautiful to bizarre ... I'm just a cast of voice using this microphone. And as Souvant (I think) Neumann women's voices are rather nice textured view. on the other hand for men's voices was a little more the unknown with this microphone. For this is what I would do well not to take this as TLM67 single microphone.

The TLM 67 is officially THE micro string instrument Neumann dice or at least there is a soundboard. I also used a double bass: Superb ... I am based violinist and I tried the mic Souvant adapted and frankly works in combination TLM67 fine for ca.

When you registered instruments for the second plan to mix more than 1.50m in group or solo ... TLM67 the rendering is super natural and pleasant. Your tools are a logical place to mix immediately.

This mic is versatile but more capricious than a U87. We find that magic typically Neumann. Against by being a very sensitive microphone it will adapt well to not less qualitée preamplifiers. The influence of the preamp will aillor all the greater.

I used it with a preamp Chandler TG2, Trident S80 and 1073. The Trident S80 works fine with this TLM67 then Chandler. Avalon on the rings ... Avalon ... So I have no opinion in the sense that it is rather pleasant but somewhat still the same. Preamplifiers Burn Brown on the DXB200 is pretty bland.


In the end it's a pleasant surprise this microphone. It is ca place in the range of Neumann mic to have with others. But do not miss out on so far!

I use for a year, after using most microphones midrange home studio
I was looking for a microphone with a beautiful color, and since I do not separate any more
it is plugged into a preamp Rupert Neve Designs ....
FYI I had not cracked on the M149 I prefer the color of the ci.Alors that for many the 149 is the top.Donc tastes ... no choice it's cool

TLM 67 Microphone does have a low threshold SPL announced, but it wanted. In fact, I read an article that says the TLM 67 is supposed to emulate the characteristics of a string of recording time 50, 60. Namely: loss of precision highs, distortion of a compressor or preamp ... etc. ..
So all we can blame him are actually the qualities required by Neumann in the design of this microphone.
He called 67 just because of the capsule is inside. But it is, from what I understood from this article that was written in German ... .... no question of usurping the name of the U67.

It is deliberately not comparable to U 87, 67 and 47 because it is not adapted to the same recording technology.
Youtou to contradict, the background is more elaborate than it seems.
But Youtou is absolutely right when he says that this microphone is not recommended on the powerful tools and it is not interesting as a mic.
