This is a rare-ish one. I wasn't sure if they still made'em but apparently they do now, fernandes and burny are now together as far as I know.
Features:
NECK : Mahogany, 628mm-Scale, Set-Neck
FINGERBOARD : Rosewood, 22F., 400R
BODY : Maple 15mm + Mahogany 45mm
PICKUP : HPD-200, FVH-2002S
CONTROL : 1Volume, 1Tone, 3Way Toggle-SW., Sustainer Controls
BRIDGE : FRT-11
PICKUPS: fernandes sustainer in the neck and an EMG 89 in the bridge!
Very interesting piece with a floyd-like trem, and a fernandes sustainer pickup in the neck. Very cool!! I'm not sure if the bridge pickup is stock or an aftermarket thing, it most likely is an aftermarket pickup.
UTILIZATION
It's easy to play for sure, just like any other LP type. The bridge is pretty decent, I don't think it's an original floyd but it's alright and kind of cool to see on a LP, especially with the awesome fernandes sustainer pickup in the neck! Real cool!
This is a pickup that offers literally infinite sustain. It requires a battery and has some of it's own controls on the front of the guitar. You can set how long you want the note to ring for, it can be forever or it can just be for a normal amount of time. It's a pickup itself too so it's a multi-function pickup!
There are 2 mini toggle switches on this guitar, one I believe is the fernandes sustainer to set the two modes, one of which is on/off and the other is to select the 3 different modes that the sustainer can do, natural, harmonic and blend.
There's a push pull tone control for the EMG to switch between single coil and humbucker mode.
SOUNDS
Sounds GREAT! Wow, i'm really impressed with this piece!! The EMG 89 is such an underrated pickup, it's basically an EMG single coil AND an EMG 85 put together and you can toggle or push/pull between the two. Great sound, nice clear and defined distortion, thick and warm also. While the cleans are great especially with the 85 being warmer than the 81, it has a lot of headroom for nice humbucker cleans or you can push/pull your tone knob and get the EMG single coil in the bridge to get that single coil spank, which is still noiseless by the way!
OVERALL OPINION
Great guitar, very diverse and offers quite a few things on board to make the guitar literally SING. I believe they still make this model, as far as I know. The bridge is probably the worst part which is at most, decent and not great. But everything else about this guitar is amazing! I wish I had a sustainer pickup in all my guitars!!
The EMG 89 is also quite a versatile pickup! Great options and switchability between single coil and humbucker makes it a real diverse guitar!
