Cort EVL-Z6

The Cort EVL Z6 guitar is a Korean made guitar that is made for sound and quality. It comes in a stealth black design and looks very clean. The sound of it is very clean as well. A good friend of mine has this guitar so I have a chance to play around with it from time to time. Only thing that I really didn’t like about the guitar was the feel of it. It just didn’t feel like anything I was use to like the Les Pauls, Gibson’s, or any other brand. I am not sure if it’s the fact that Korea used a different material or not. But the sound isn’t affected at all by the feel.

UTILIZATION

This guitar can play anything from country to rock to blues. I have even been playing classical on the thing and it sounds great. The sustain is awesome. I love the 60's style neck. I have smaller hands and can play this neck very well. The coil tapping kind of gives you the best of both worlds, either single or double coil and when you start to mix the 2 you can get some awesome combination.

SOUNDS

You can and will get a very nice sound with this guitar pretty easy. All of the frets are easy to reach without any problems.


OVERALL OPINION

With an amazing sound this guitar can go toe toe with almost any other guitar in its price range. The down side for me is the feel. If it doesn’t feel right to me than I wont purchase it. Even though a friend of mine owns it, I wouldn’t go out and purchase it anyways. But without that Gibson feel, I just cant get too funky with it. But I love the all black stealth look. Not too many guitars go with that look any more, it was a faze a few years back but not anymore.

UTILIZATION

Varnished handle very nice and not too thick. The ebony fingerboard is smooth and allows a quick game on the handle.
This is a LP type guitar seen some fairly mild EPIPHONE LP that I've experienced. Its shape can play standing or sitting because it is well balanced.
Access to the treble is good but not great when you want to go on the low E string at the 22nd fret.

SOUNDS

The two EMG 60 and 81 can have a clean sound not bad at all but this guitar is made for metal that spot so it's especially disto it will show its potential. Sharp and powerful rhythmic solo, here is what you expect with this CORT EVL Z6.
I use it with a transistor amp Randall KH75 I couple with a BLACKSTAR HT DUAL pedal and it allows me to shape the sound I want.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for three years now and I do not really get tired and yet I've seen a few pass (just see my old stuff ...)
The only thing that can tire, it may be good but its Gothic Deco after three years it does not bother me at all.
If I had to redo this Chois it would without hesitation, shame that CORT has more in this Z6 its catalog ...

Channel a bit wide.

SOUNDS

Thundering neck pickup for clean sound.
Trs lens.
Its saturated fat in the neck and bridge pickup prcis well.

OVERALL OPINION

Purchased in March 2006. Bought new hardware at a price of 689.00 (or 4 520 FF)

Beautiful skyscrapers.
Cross-pearl on the neck and body mat is the most beautiful effect.
Beautiful violin.
Handle fairly large (it is not Ibanez) but relatively comfortable.

A real favorite.

UTILIZATION

I use it for a lot of things actually biensur TRSA is comfortable in the big metal rhythm, but no one without trying it can be said is only for that!
I t enjoyable indeed surprised by the neck pickup with its very gentle and perfect for quiet songs ... (Edit one year later: small BMOL distos often on too strong ...)
So actually quite versatile despite the two EMG, trs happy about that.
Otherwise the guitar in it even is not too heavy (Edit one year later: in fact it is standard.) And handle well done, good accsa all keys, except perhaps on the 21 22 the strings ... (Edit one year later: in fact, section 22, must not count on it.)

SOUNDS

I play with a Vox Valvetronix 50 watt amp, and trs There's really a wide range of effort with all the microphones with the amp, the choice of the switch position changes greatly sounds , crystalline bridge pickup, round and soft neck pickup ... What's more, both at the same time make a mixture that suits me well trs.

OVERALL OPINION

I tried many guitars before I stop on this one for its incredible comfort and the sound that perfectly matches what I was looking for.
I got a 650 euro which is less than what I intended to, so I'm rather happy with the cot l.
I thought the beginners get tired of a particular design trs based pentacles and crosses but eventually it goes well and trs ca gives him a small cot dark not found on any guitar ... (Edit a year later: the tired look a little contrary to what I thought at beginners)
Also in the look, the head has specially mentioned that I love, although this is not the opinion of all ...

I do it again without hsiter choice. (Edit One year later I sold it to an Ibanez Prestige, MDIT)
