« I let go! »
Published on 10/12/12 at 02:25Korean manufacturing very honest for the price.
Goldtop paint is very successful, high quality violin.
A little flat on the finish: traces of glue around the marks trapeze mechanical alignment, adjusting plastic covers and pickguard.
Nothing too bad, it does not interfere with the comfort and sound.
2 pieces mahogany body, set neck slim type type, tailpiece stop bar, 2 home P90. It can hardly be more accurate compared to Gibson.
UTILIZATION
I'm used to Strats that I was a little afraid of too much hassle with the handle of a Les Paul (I have rather small hands). Ben and not at all! It is true that this is not a girl but handle the wide profile and end with a fairly flat radius (12 "at first glance) is really super comfortable. A little tired at first, but now I enquille 3 -4 hours of repeats without flinching.
This is not the case for my poor lumbar! The guitar is heavy, about 3.8 kg!
Access to acute is not easy, I got caught more than once by the thickness of the heel (handle glued oblige)! You really fight to get a bend in the mid 22nd, but the public will reward you well!
The sound of the P90 coupled with the mahogany body is a marvel!
The sustain is huge like a good LP!
SOUNDS
Clearly, the bridge pickup has real teeth and body, the neck pickup offers jazz and blues sounds beautiful.
The P90 pickups are very dynamic, depending on the settings so it can quickly go into crunch if strong attack!
This being said I play mostly reggae and it's going very well.
Against by the crunch really is his playground, the biting attack the BB King until the red LED Zeppelinnienne, anything goes! We stay in a vintage spirit but what character!
DO you really sound clear, subtle, responsive to the finger and the eye depending on your attack with lots of body.
With a Big Muff distortion types, it loses against the creamy we easily with a Strat. It is immediately in fuzz but sounds very nice. It will take a RAT distortion types to keep the definition with lots of gain.
OVERALL OPINION
I bought OCCAZ in June 2012 for € 250! This is a B-stock so it has some small paint defects but frankly should keep an eye on it!
I wanted a guitar that complements my Strat and I serve as backup guitar live. In addition, LesPaul make me kiffer for ages but Gibson is not in my price unfortunately.
Well, I let her go! I completely fell for his sound, his look, his strong personality.
Unbeatable value for money, forget Epiphone!
Only downside in my opinion: the mechanical kind Kluson a bit cheap.
I just change them for Grover Deluxe, the poor performance agreement is a memory!
If you want a Les Paul without breaking the bank like that faithfully reproduce the sounds LP vintage, do not hesitate. It really is rare to find such good guitars at this price (about 400 € new but are readily available on the second hand market).
