made in china, very good finish, knockouts of cavities are correct, the wiring has a good mouth, ears mics are crap then finished buying the guitar I had in mind to change the start. I prepared to change everything was electric circuit if necessary. I did not even plug in the guitar before buying it sounded so good unplugged. The vibrations are really very present, more than my other guitars that include fender us and jap. So the violin is really good and for the price it's worth every penny.
Only bemol finally a capacitor was bad and it was soda quickly resolved with an upgrade. Apart mics I have kept the original circuit because everything is going very well.

SOUNDS

In original condition it does not sound as bad as I remember ear microphones stocks 10 years ago, but hey, it's still crap.

after upgrade tonezone handle and sh-1 middle, it becomes one intrument really qualitative. With my choice it sounds REALLY fat and round while remaining precise and well defined, a really good surprise. I have not changed the bridge, I tate to find a good complement.

Good ... they are not always wrong ... but some are terrible and some Gison epis hold the road. OVERALL OPINION

Frankly epiphone makes beautiful shit in recent years, the Les Paul are not terrible at finishing in general, it's still expensive for this kind of thing, but they seem to make efforts on a few products and Custom in part . I promised myself never to buy epiphones and stores all my tests gave me reason. Until I tried the custom models that are really very above the rest as the les paul copies in Japan.
It does not go out of tune like a real gibson, the finish is better than the cheap gibson is a good guitar a derisory price, china I got it new for 300 euros. And thank you for the violin, it sounds fucking!

Overall very satisfied. I would not recommend many epiphones but it's worth it.

I bought this guitar off of eBay for about $450. I wanted it because I'd heard a lot about it and because it was so BEAUTIFUL.

First off, I must say that this is the best sounding guitar I've ever played. With reverb and light distortion, oh my gosh, it's so awesome. The sound is very rich and full, a tribute to the extra humbucker. Not only is it beautiful, but it has wonderful sound to back it up.

Hmm.....I can't think of anything for my self, but if you want to play a lot of lead, I would get the Les Paul Custom, and not the Black Beauty. Why? The extra pickup gets in the way of the pick if you play lead, but on the LP Custom, it's the exact same thing, except that the third pickup isn't there.

Like all Gibsons and Epiphones, it's build like a tank. The one I got had a few dings in it, but you can barely see them. The quality of this guitar surpasses anything except its Gibson counterpart.


Bottom line, this is a wonderful guitar for someone who wants to play rhythm, but not lead. If you want lead, go with the LP Custom. One thing I have noticed is that the gold hardware looses its finish after a long period of time. Just a thought....

I got this at peterborough music and paid 499GBP for it. Bargain. I'd tried several guitars and this was just the best.

hmmmm, well its gorgeous! Black with all gold hardware! the 3 humbuckers are awesome. At first i though the middle was useless but it didnt take me long to figure out how to put it use. The sound is incredible! deep and powefull but smooth. Clean it plays like a dream, perfect for the woo-ing! put it on distortion and its a rock feind. You really dont need much gain to get an awesome sound and if you turn it all the way up it and you get some wicked modern metal sounds. The best thing about it is if you like the white stripes with a bit of a fiddle you can it to sound just like jack white's guitar. the neck and fret feel like silk. I was looking for something with a thin neck but it really doesnt matter with this. I dont play solo's, mostly rythem and i can move differnt cord shapes all over the neck with speed and ease. People say les pauls are heavy. No guitars are heavy!, just heavier than other guitars. So i dont see what the problem is. personally i like to feel the weight of my guitar.

I tried a korean made Fender Strat with Seymoure Duncan and it was £499 woth of crap. I treid a burns Brain May for £500a nd that was nice but nothing like my Balck Beauty.

The shape isnt as comfomatable as my start copy, when sitting, but its not too much of a problem. There was a tiny ding on the head stock. The pickup selecter should be 5 way, not 3 but i may look into getting this upgrade.

The term axe is best used hear. This thing feels so solid i reckon i could take someones head off with it. easy. i've only had it 4 days though so i cant comment on how long it lasts. One of the 'buckers was slightly at an angle, and i'm talking about 2 degrees. not noticable. besides, i like thinking mine is a little different.

Bottom line, dont buy this guitar. Its mine! seriuosly though, i'm considering going into international waters so i can marry it. I love it and have no regrets. Its beautifull, and sounds great. a real mans guitar.

If anyone stole it i'd hunt them down and force them to listen to Blazing Squad. Torture!

Epiphone Les Paul series black beauty/Ebony guitar is basically a cheap version of the Gibson custom custom shop three pick up Ebony guitar. This guitar is not built as well as a Gibson Les Paul guitar because of the inaccuracies in the weight and feel of the body. This guitar doesn't carry the same feel that the regulars Gibson Les Paul can feel. The tone can be very close and very similar but there's that extra missing link that makes a Gibson what it is today.

SOUNDS


If you've ever spent any time with you get some Les Paul guitar then you know that they are warm, very beefy, and thick sounding. This guitar is going to give you that same type of beefy warm thick tone. However when you're playing it just seems to be something missing in its feel, weight, and balance. The Gibson Les Paul has an extra 10% which I think maybe constitutes the large price but it certainly does give the player that feel of workmanship and solid built instruments. This guitar does not give you that sense of workmanship and feel.

OVERALL OPINION


These guitars are fairly inexpensive if you can find them in the used or even the new classifieds . You can find a new one for right around $750. The Epiphone guitars are pretty popular because they're basically a lesser version of a Gibson guitar. So they're fairly popular and they're somewhat inexpensive compared to a Gibson Les Paul guitar.

UTILIZATION

A superb finish, it looks really the same as its big sister. It just lacks the headstock similar (here Epiphone head ... shame.
The handle is very nice (only if you like the sleeves les paul!)
It's a beautiful baby quite heavy, but less than its big sister and at least we feel we have something between the hand!
In terms of access to acute, it is complicated, it takes a little practice but it gets there fast enough after the other guitars and get the cake!
But the main strength is its finish, and also its freight, they are smooth and do not exceed 1 mm! I'll put a 9 / 10. very beautiful and not so complicated to play it!

SOUNDS

The one reaches his strong point ... You play the blues / rock / reggea it is for you, sonoritées hot and powerful, with a pretty good sustain. (The third microphone brings a lot of heat!)
For the metal fan, I'm sorry but the bug will not let tamed, squeaky sounds fat and should be avoided.
It shows some limits on share qd distortions with much gain but for the price ... nothing to say it's a great sound! You will enjoy the fullness and accuracy above all.
Originally there were Seymour Duncan pickups, but I think it has changed since then, but when I tried new version I found it very good and almost comparable to Seymour (who are on mine )
Apart amp with very strong and a huge stage, it is frankly very difficult to make a difference with her older sister, goes as Epiphone and that's good for our wallet!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 5 years. Its strong points are its finishing and blues / rock. Its main drawback: weight, access to acute. But the choice is very quick to € 750 you have a gibson at home, unless you play on a huge tube amp in a concert hall in 1000 people! And a small change in micro level should the problem!
The value for money is unbeatable, I believe that the level and finish you will not find better. I tried 2 Gibson Les Paul and I left with the Epiphone and yet I know myself really well ... I would do the same choice without any problems.
Continue to support the music and understand that the name of a guitar is one thing but what is the price of a gibson (4000 € for the black beauty) is really worth the difference will be seen that from the masters of ear for music (and even me I struggled to see a difference)
Good scratch all I put a 10/10 for the many quality face-to-market, but watch the prices will soon flare up as Gibson / Epiphone want to create a system consécionnaire in France ...

Les Paul supercharged with some versatility. On an all-tube amp with that spitting sustain enormous. Ideal for a 4x12 roar of pleasure.

OVERALL OPINION

I have 3 years and I am delighted. I dreamed of a Les Paul and I ... Epiphone price. The shade with a Gibson is minimal and in my opinion is not worth € 1000 difference.
Excellent value rix with a small caveat: the premature wear of the gilding in places that rub (use punk), hence the 9 / 10.

I would do this choice eyes closed.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this model since 2001
I love its black color and gilding of the hardware
The weight of the animal requires an adjustment period when going from a standard model of a Start!
Apart from the basic models and low-end of my buddies I have not really tried other models
With my first wages paid 3600 francs (550 Euros) at that price I would do the same choice
But I would not go in the store that sold it to me, then I am sure she has dragged in a corner for X time
The switch was defective, and spitting pots (after 15 days of use)
I am a bit disappointed with the product but not because of lack of finish, but really because the dealer

The Les Paul Classic with three humbuckers was a fairly popular model, and considering that Epiphone basically copies everything Gibson does, it's no surprise they'd release this. It has a mahogany body with a maple top, a set mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard and trapezoid inlays, 22 frets, binding all around, tune-o-matic bridge, three humbuckers, two volumes, two tones and a three way switch.

UTILIZATION

The guitar was put together decently. However, there were some flaws. For one, the nut slots were cut too deep. You could tell because the strings would bind a bit when tuning, and they encompassed the string a bit too much. The fretwork was decent, but there were some sharp edges going on. If I were to keep this guitar, I'd probably round the fret edges a bit so they'd feel a bit better.

SOUNDS

The pickups in this are pretty average. They kinda lack character, but considering the price, it's pretty average for something like this. The bridge pickup has some bite to it, but it's a bit muddy. It seems to lose definition once you start adding some gain. The neck pickup is the same way, only I think the neck pickup on this was a touch bright. The middle pickup is the worst pickup of all, and that's partly because it's in the middle. I just don't like middle humbuckers, and you can't really split it with the other pickups like you can a single coil.

OVERALL OPINION

These are decent alternatives to the Gibson version, but remember that you're losing a few features such as the ebony board and overall build quality. I found it didn't sound quite as resonant as the actual Gibson version, and the nut/fretwork wasn't quite as good either. I'm not really sure why anybody would want a middle humbucker, but if you're looking for a decent guitar with a middle pickup, this might work out for you.
