« Epiphone Les Paul Studio »
Published on 06/25/01 at 15:00Bought it from the local music shop for £200
The guitar is very well setup and the construction is great. It works very well with effect and can give a great grooowl with my ProCo Turbo Rat. Quite fast neck
Although the body of the guitar itsel is very robust, I've only had the guitar a year and serious problems are arising. For instance, my fingers now get caught on the perloid inlays as they are beginning to sink; the pick-up selector swith is buggered and the finish is wearing thin on the neck. Also, the neck pickup is fine clean, but DO NOT use it with distortion. VeRy unpleasant! Just become incomprehensible noise!
Good construction quality; although had to superglue to tune-o-matic to keep it intonated well. Good woods used for the money - maple with mahogany core.
This guitar is good for a few things and only a few. It excels with some effects, sounds horrible with others. However, nothing perfect for this money, and Les-Pauls are supposed to be muddy I suppose
