Epiphone Slash Snakepit Les Paul

I paid about £400 & got it off the net. Had to wait 3 months for one to be imported. I couldn't find one in a shop at all.

The sound is great! it sustains forever, does excellent sounding rock power chords & has a lovely warm clean sound too. I gig it regularly in a rock covers band & it is well up for live performances as well bedroom guitarist use. The glued rather than bolted on neck gives you loads of sustain. It sounds much better than some other guitars in it's price range, I have a Jackson as well & the Epiphone sounds so much richer. It's something a bit unusual as well, I've often had people come up to me & ask me about it when they see the slash logo on the body.

They only do one colour, red. This is a bit strange as Slash is known for playing a sunburst Les Paul!

The construction and quality of the guitar are where it falls down. Upon arrival to me brand new, the intonation counld not be set correctly & it needed to have sky-scraper high action to avoid fret buz. The frets needed re-rendering & the truss rod adjusting to correct this. Although the importer paid for this work, it's hard to imagine how the guitar passed Epiphone's supposedly strict quality control.

The knobs, switches & machine heads are of very low quality. Within a few months the pick up switch had failed leaving me with no bridge pick up in the middle of a gig. The volume pot also failed & needed replacing & the things you secure the strap to fell off!

This is a great sounding guitar let down buy a few cheap components. If only they'd fitted quality knobs & switches, I'd have been happy to pay a little more for the guitar. Once you've replaced the pick-up switch, knobs, machine heads & fitted strap locks you'll have a truely excellent instrument. If only Epiphone had thought along these lines I would have nothing negative to say about it

A guitar with a finish of good quality but nothing do with Gibson ... drawing the snake could be better quality (must see, I open the eye so I abuse it a little!) and the wood of the table and the varnish more pais.

UTILIZATION

It's a Les Paul so expect a relatively large weight (not as much as on amricaines I think ...), a grip and instinctive enjoyable and comfort of use .
As for the sounds ... see below ...

SOUNDS

The pickups are good quality for a small micro BMOL acute MRIT which can be changed to be a (say) the Seymour Duncan JB or SD Alcino II Pro ... serious when the microphone allows a good Polivalente saturations between large and clean sounds warm and round.
The sound is not bad at all but does not provide the quality of the sound of Slash .... hlas!

Best used (well that's what I recommend!) With an all-tube Marshall amp, pedals of a delay (slightly for clean sounds) and chorus (from time to time has not hurt) , a compressor and a wha wha to mumuse!

OVERALL OPINION

A very nice guitar for all fans of Snakepit and Slash!
Vritable a pleasure to play on a skyscraper that appeals as well as Aesthetics musiqualement ...
A must that I would not give!

Quazi a Gibson this toy!
the sound makes you a budding Slash no problem! While I was added to Duncan, the original pickups are largely effective and nothing is wrong with this subject ...
The handle ... nothing wrong, it goes well for a small portion mm tapping!

SOUNDS

A guitar very Polyval, for both good riff Hard Rock for a little blues sweet it does the job of your ears ...
Once or less forced waiting for the metal c example, I use it to play given in D on my Hughes and Kettner Big ..... nothing to say it does too!

OVERALL OPINION

That's good 3 years I have and the only thing that I miss a vibrato ..... biensur c we do not pa criticized this beautiful little guitar! ! ! as it already!

Only weak point of the mechanical black plastic ... not the black pa derrange yes ... but the plastic tubes prepared super glue ....

UTILIZATION

The handle is in my opinion trs enjoyable, it falls in the hand, not flat or particulirement tron ​​tree is a good compromise.

My style of music is very wide, it's a bit all quie st rock, and it fits well everywhere.
it plugs into a digitech pedals and a Marshall derrire (transistor) and it sounds good.
Even playing a good old sweet child's door or with, it's really beautiful. (N_n)

OVERALL OPINION

This is my 2nd guitar, I have over the past year, a friend to me a great deal on cd to buy a guitar mtal 100% and I do not regret one second to have cracks .
then for dja jou on Gibson Les Paul, I would say that it is the same (the sound is good, more is at the finish of the handle and the gibson m 'a bluff), but c is a very very good guitar.

a unique look, sound, EXCELLENT, very good report quality price, I buy it back without hsiter, and I would sell it for anything, even the day j'achterai the big sister, gibson version.
