Gibson Les Paul Artist of 1981 Top of the range of the LP era. One of the last MODELS Flametop a rare, APRS Mike Slubowski (www.lespaulforum.com). Gems manufactured between 1978 to 1979 (?) And 1981 Nashville, Tennessee.
It is difficult to have information about this guitar at Gibson atypical. In 1979, there were only 500 MODELS products.
Flametop, Tobacco Sunburst finish, this call Fireburst MODEL (base: Anticsunburst), in part suprieure Saddle two pices. C'tait the first time since almost 20 years that Gibson used the clbre "2 pices Saddle" (the dernire time as the standard 1960/Les Paul).
The body is solid mahogany. The neck is mahogany in part 5, bne, saddle of pure beauty (best round ever put on a Gibson Les Paul?).
The frets are bne, inlaid with mother of pearl buttons rectangular, Premire including the collar (as usual on the Les Paul.).
The "Bell" gilded with fine gold inlaid with a "Les Paul Artist" discreet, but not too much, just the logo complter beautifully unique "LP" in cursive letters pearl (s well r), surmounted prompt GIBSON A sloping head this madness.
UTILIZATION
The head of mcaniques (dores) intgrent a small crank Systm rtractable, DLIR to tighten the strings! The bridge: "Small" added 6 screws cut to refine the tuning
SOUNDS
Add this active circuits (Map Moog "ACTIVE MOOG electronics") pulss by injecting 3 switches, respectively, compression, expansion and shine .. Attention to the ears!
Tone controls (2) with a notch mdian: below the mid position (choice numro 1-5) or above the middle position (also numro 1-5) respectively we "cut" or "amplifies" the Tone. Add the volume knob.
OVERALL OPINION
This unique configuration gives the "Les Paul Artist" ventail a great tone. The sound is indescribable. You have your Gibson Custom afterburner more! Tons of support and deep tones ballsy tones screaming Les Paul / Dimarzio.
