See reviews prcdents. Mine was in 1998, first year of production. As usual with Gibson, the first models are irrprochables (that is after when it comes success, that is a gte ...).
As this model was a little risk taking, Gibson has put on the wood quality: the maple table, mahogany body and neck, and rosewood are the key of any beauty .dropoff window Usually we do not find this quality than on custom shop models.

USE

The neck is modern, fine enough to make life easier for small hands, wide enough for a clean game. The frets are wide and flat: it is not the top for the correctness (rglage in compulsory luthier), by contrast, legatos out alone.

The handle almost completely out of the body, allows thundering vibrato: a plated agreement around the first five boxes can be vibr like a Fender! Users familiar with the Telecaster stuff. on the other hand, try doing that with a '58 Reissue LP and its handle "baseball bat" ...

SONORITS

In dbranch can clearly hear the tonal chambers: the guitar trunk!
This instrument is a nervous, angry, destiny to rock, blues and country music. The rhythmic tear, attacks are sharp and the sound of trickling harmonics. The neck pickup, placed lower because of the 24 cases, DLivre sound a little prcis and less fat than the usual Paul.
The clean sounds are amazingly beautiful: no need to prolong compressor notes or roll arpges Danny Gatton.

The neck pickup is warm and juicy. Again, even clean sounds have something singing.
The race is particularly rgulire potentiometers, which makes them very usable. With a good amp (lamps and ractif), we can very easily go from a slightly dirty a lead sound without changing channel (very big advantage: the result is more musical).

UTILIZATION

The neck is thin like a Les Paul Classic. Rounded back and flat on the button.

I used several months before selling it reluctantly.
It really is top. It saturates more slowly than the Standard, it is less heavy, it is cheaper and has a handle that suited me.
For the report qualitprix, Gibson is not the maximum, some models are not well finished, it is unacceptable that price.
I found mine in the new opportunity, has the worth!
This guitar is in excellent even if I found an opportunity in promotion or I Rasht!

UTILIZATION

Access in the treble is no problem, he just had time to adapt because of the smaller spacing between the frets sensitive from the 14th box.
The handle is fine and pleasant, with a more rounded back on Start.
Lightweight compared to the Les Paul Standard and my other guitars (due to room tone in the body).
The stomach is cut and the more double cutting.

SOUNDS

Blues Rock in the style it suits me perfectly.

Neck pickup sounds OK for blues / jazz
Ideal pickup for his bluesy / Rock / Hard
The sustain is OK in all cases

OVERALL OPINION

That's 3 years that I use with the beast still enjoy.
It took me a few weeks before finding my bearings and paufiner the adjustment at the bridge / stopbar.
Nothing to say about the finish or electronics after 3 years.
The value for money is okay, it still is close to 2000 euros ...
No regrets to date, a Les Paul without incobnvénients of this one

The Double Cut Les Pauls were never too popular, and I believe it was because of their more radical design. They're not bad guitars at all, but you have to really dig the way they look. The guitar features a mahogany body with a maple top, a mahogany set neck with a rosewood fretboard, standard trapezoid inlays, 22 frets, a tune-o-matic bridge, two humbuckers, one volume, one tone and a three way switch.

UTILIZATION

This guitar was a bit used, so there was some fret wear going on. You could see the grooves in the frets, and for the guitar to play nicely, they should be leveled and recrowned. The ends were still nice, however. The nut itself was a bit too deep after all the years of the strings running through them, so it needed a new nut. Keep in mind that not all guitars will have these issues, but it's something to keep in the back of your mind in case you ever decide to buy one of these used.

SOUNDS

I wasn't a huge fan of the stock pickups in this thing. Then again, I'm not the biggest fan of Gibson pickups to begin with. The bridge was powerful, but it lacked what I usually look for in a bridge pickup. I like the pickup to be clear and tight, but it seemed to be voiced more towards the vintage side of things. The neck sounded decent, but I'd like it to be more powerful and smoother sounding. I'm a sucker for those ultra smooth guitar tones for leads, but that's probably because I use them as a bit of a crutch for lead playing.

OVERALL OPINION

They're a bit ugly, but they still deliver in terms of tone. They sound fat and play the part. Try to see if you can score a cheaper used one on eBay rather than buying in the store. You should get a much better deal that way. Or you could even search Craigslist and try to get it cheaper that way. Be sure to watch out for fretwork issues.

OVERALL OPINION

I been using it for 3 years. I have a Washburn, a roxane std France, sg, and this one. I never would sell it and c is the last guitar that I bought second hand. it dates from 98.

I owned a copy of the first series, "most wanted" (one wonders by whom!).
The hoop was a shame (frets square, more than doubtful accuracy).
Otherwise, aesthetically, it's true that she was not ugly: the mahogany body was flamed any but the table was pretty. That said, it's been ages since even low-end brands (Cort, Aria ...) to propose ... without displaying prices Caponiens Al Gibson.

The guitar is clearly unbalanced: it leans on the side head is exasperating when playing standing. After this experience, I am now convinced of one thing: better a guitar heavy but stays in place.
Holding agreement is a nightmare!! And that, due to a design flaw: the handle is too loose and the body behaves like a rubber rod. I installed the top of the mechanical lock, nothing did.
Beside, my '58 Les Paul in 1996, equipped with mechanical vintage (and a round "baseball bat" well entrenched in the body) is perfect agreement.
Like what is actually in the old pots ...


SOUNDS

Sound dire bass. Not surprising given that the guitar has a "tone chambers" (yuck) and it was unnecessarily fine. The only interesting innovation lies in the cut at the stomach and right arm. But it paid dearly!
Add to this its anemic a pair of microphones obsessed by the media, you get the sound of a duck and temperamental constipated.
The fact that there is a volume and tone again diminishes the value of this sonic shovel.
